So how is this TDs behavior different then the former treasurer of the Mt. Orab Girls' Softball Association that mis-used funds from the orgs Treasury. The Teams/Girls that attended this weekend were stolen from.

SEE BELOW FOR STORY ON OH Lady going to jail for stealing Orgs Concession Monies.....

Below from today's news. Associations, leagues and large organizations, never leave the funds in control of one person without another person's over-site. We get these stories every year.

MT. ORAB, Ohio -- A woman has been indicted Monday after allegedly stealing over $5,000 from a girl's softball association.

The Brown County Grand Jury passed down the one-count indictment for theft against the former treasurer of the Mt. Orab Girls' Softball Association, 36-year-old Lori Henley.

Henley allegedly took over $5,000 between April 2006 and October 2008. The theft was discovered when the association's concession stand was repossessed in January 2009 for non-payment.

Association members believed the concession stand was paid for in full, but Henley had entered into a contract to purchase the building and failed to keep up with the payments. The concession stand has since been returned.

Henley allegedly wrote numerous checks from the association for cash and failed to make deposits from the proceeds of the concession stand. In one instance, Henley paid her own electric bill with an association check.

Henley faces 6 to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine. She has not yet been arrested.

I am new to OFC site but was at this tourny with my U10 daughter... I am not a coach but just a softball mom and after reading this thread, I thought I would let the TD of this tourny know that I don't believe that just a "few" were unhappy with this outcome. I know many of the parents on our team were pretty ticked and we heard grumbling and others from other organizations also appearing mad and unhappy with it as well.

I agree with all the coaches and whoever else who has been talking about the lack of preparation, help, and interest the TD made throughout this entire event, health problems or not... we pay alot of money, we work heard doing many fundraisers to raise the money for tournaments and for our daughters to play softball in these tournaments. We want the most for that money.. we don't want to rip you off, we want your organization to make a little bit off of us, we understand that much... but we also expect a little bit of better treatment and when fields are playable and when coaches and parents are helping to make them playable, then give them the courtesy to let them play.

This TD cancelled and stopped play on Saturday before any of the "serious" weather even started...we were already playing in a mist and it was sprinkling on and off all day, at the time of the cancellation, every field had a game going on, and the rain had let up and there was still 3 hours of daylight, in fact one game that started at 4:30 had to have a sudden death stop at 5:30, per the TD's decision and then that ended up being the end of the tournament and no rain to be had after that and many hours of daylight, field was no different than when the teams finished playing. If this was the last game of the night... why did it need to be sudden death?

I agree with the one reply where someone said this TD is taken us for "morons" because we also had families who stayed overnight at a hotel and they also said there was no rain that they could tell, through the night and the fields looked just as good on Sunday AM... I have 2 DD's who play and for the past 6 years, have never had a cancellation because of what the weather MIGHT be...we've had to sit in parking lots for 2 hour in a downpour once and then when the rain let up... we still got out, coaches and parents helped fix up the fields and the games resumed, 2 hrs behind... but they still played and that is the way to run a tournament... that is the way to make sure the teams monies are used wisely and the way that you get your money and the teams get playing time.

I am sorry for rambling, but this was a very frustrating weekend and I am very glad to hear that coaches and organizations and parents are saying that they are not going to continue going to tournaments that are run this way... as I said earlier... we work too hard fundraising, we put out a lot of our income to softball, we vollunteer alot of our time, we put alot of wear and tear in our vehicles, we buy alot of concession, we fork over money to hotels all over Ohio...we expect to be treated nicely, we expect to be shown some respect and we want the TD's to all the tournaments to know that we want you to do your best to help our girls get the most playing time that you can help them get by making sure you are at least partially prepared for inclament weather.... I don't think that is asking for much considering how much each team pays you.

The TD is already in trouble so he doesn't care anymore. I wish the moderator wouldn't have taken some of the comments off when people were trying to warn teams about this guy. I have been calling this for the past two years. Two years ago my team won second place in his Summerslam tourney and he somehow mistakenly "forgot" to order our trophies so he sent my team to the concession stand to get a treat. These girls were ten years old. They wanted a trophy, not nachos. Last year I wasn't sure of the status of my team and I took my dd to tryout for his team (yeah, dumb, I know). He tried to charge me $400 THAT NIGHT. I was shocked. I told him that I had to talk it over with my daughter before I was handing him any amount of money. He called me NON-STOP for a week...even up until 12:00 am telling me that he had a bill for me because he had already ordered my daughter's uniforms, etc etc. Whatever. I told him he wasn't getting a dime of my money because at that point it was obvious to me what he was out for. What a jerk. I am so glad this guy is getting exactly what he deserves.

Jon used to be with the LunaChix, but I don't know which organization Jon is with now. What organization is he hosting this tournament for? The organization should have something in place to deal with these complaints, or at the very least, some setup of a board that can be consulted.

Jon is no longer in affiliation with the Lunachix organization. It was my understanding from his past posts that this was to benefit OFC Bullets?

An Urbana couple was indicted by a Champaign County Grand Jury on Thursday on felony charges of stealing from a local youth sports organization.

Jon Walter Allison, of 120 Lincoln Place, Urbana, was indicted on one count of grand theft, one count of unauthorized use of property and one count of receiving stolen property.

His wife, Sonya Mae Allison, of the same address, was indicted on one count of receiving stolen property.

The couple was allegedly taking funds from the Urbana Girls Fastpitch, also known as the Lunachix, traveling softball program. This program is not affiliated with Urbana Youth Sports.

According to Urbana Police Officer Josh Jacobs, who was the lead investigator on the case, the Urbana Girls Fastpitch board met with him in January once questionable purchases were brought to their attention.

After having financial accounts subpoenaed, Jacobs said investigators "discovered purchases and transfers of money of over $11,000 over the last two years." Those purchases, allegedly made by Mr. Allison, started in November 2007 and continued until he resigned his position as executive director of the organization in December 2009 -- a position which he held since the organization began.

The investigation took about four months, according to Jacobs. The reason the investigation took the amount of time it did was because his office went through every transfer of money in the accounts finding some purchases that were legitimate and others that were not.

We (his old organization) tried to warn people back in December...but were shut down and all posts were deleted off. I'm just glad now that the truth is out and it's not a secret anymore...

I, unfortunately didn't get to read the warnings so my team got the honor of spending $400 to play our 3 games before he canceled the whole tourney due to bad weather that never even materialized.

Maybe that tourney was a fund raiser for his lawyers??? ;&

I remember when that all went down. I didn't have specifics, but Ricky and Tim backed him up. Add to that we had a good experience at his fall tourney I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

Man I hate being taken.

Tim and I did offer to help jon run this event, due to jon heath problems. When contacting jon two weeks before the date of his tournament he felt that he didn't need any help, I then inform jon that I would come on Sunday.

But after my son and wife / grandkids were in a car accident on the ohio turnpike on Thursday night the day before the event was to start. I called jon and inform him then that I wouldn't be able to come up Sunday most likely.

But that still don't change my support of Jon. Not in what he may have or may have not done, but as a friend.

Everyone make mistake in there life time. I've have myself but the thing I could count on was my friends being their when I needed them the most.

God bless

We tried to warn everyone in December but we were shut down and given no support. There was no consideration given to our boards post of warning the public. Now the truth is out about a two year pattern of behavior that has cost the organization more than just money - parents, players and coaches leaving. Despite the financial burdens we were left, the organization has been blessed with two teams of good players with supportive parents, a new name and a fresh start to this new season and seasons to come.
