We are not joining this one, starting practice that weekend. Will be at the Wave's Rip-it tourney Oct 17th & 18th and maybe looking for another tourney towards the end of October. Paul was interested in the Static Fall Phanatic on Oct 24th & 25th at Rivershore but I'm not sure that one is still on.

I will be calling Expressway tonight to get some info and get our entry in for the 12u, but if there are not enough teams we will need to look elsewhere. We would also be interested in playing any scrimmages that weekend if we can get them. We will even play up in the 13u/14u teams if they don't mind. I just want to get our team on a field with someone else to see what we have.

If I remeber corectly there were several threads about the poor umpiring at Expressway. Slowpitch umpires not Fastpitch umpires. A lot of issues. Has Expressway improved there umpires or will it be the same. Maybe that is the reason teams stay away.

Overall umpiring could be improved. They did have the better umpires doing the elimination games. Umpires for the semi's and finals did a good job.

This tourney is too soon for us, we don't start practice until that Sunday. Looking to play later in October. Will be at the Wave Rip-It. Gabby and Mandy were very happy to hear you thought it would be great to see them. Hopefully we will get an Expressway tourney in this season.

Expressway Park is the nicest park and can handle all rain issues with professionalism and quickness. Umpires.... I'm not going to comment on that except yes they did bring in umpires for the Smokey Baker.

I will say this year's Smokey Baker did have the best umpiring I can remember there in my three years there.
Gopher, sorry this tourney is too early for us cause we need a couple more practices with our 11u's.
Bob, will you be putting fences up, maybe not for this one but the tourney's next year at Expressway??

All the early September tournaments are having problems. I think it is too soon after try outs. Teams are starting September with essentially a new team and want to get some practice in before hitting the tournaments. October is the month to be holding tournaments. Expressway is THE BEST park around for miles and miles and if you have been on OFC the last couple months you would know they fixed the umpire issue plus. Only thing left on the "wish" list is the fences. Maybe that will come next season, just for Les! :yahoo:
