This happens all the time down here and it makes people crazy. Collusion and roster situations make this ASA rule change terrible. Allowing qualified teams to impact who the next best teams are is crazy. Why was the rule changed........pretty easy to figure out.

The thing I find interesting is that if a host organization has an "invitation" berth they can not play in their own tournament or they lose that berth.

If I remember correctly ASA has changed the rule. If you qualify in a ASA/USA Tournament, you can still play in upcoming qualifiers with out forfeiting your Bid. This should be interesting If a qualified team knocks out a very good team before the finals. If I'm right I do not see this rule lasting more than one year.

You're suggesting a team would forfeit their berth AFTER paying their $1,500 entry fee? :lmao: In the unlikely event that happened, the forfeited berth would go back to the PGF Board to be distributed at their discretion.

Not suggesting anything that what the rules say ! ;&

Rules say teams have to pay within 10 days, so your example of a team forfeiting their berth a few weeks later would be after they paid.

The rules don't specifically address what happens to berths that are forfeited for non-payment or for playing in another qualifier, but PGF's standard operating procedure is the Board offers those berths to suitable teams based on their finish in PGF Qualifiers and/or other high-level tournaments over the Summer. PGF requires payment in 10 days so they have time to fill the spot if a team backs out.
