Playball, The tournament rules stated there was a time limit and yes, the coaches did read the rules. It was the umpire's interpretation of the rule that was incorrect. Has your daughter ever played for tlg? If not, you should not speak on things you know nothing about. My daughter has played for him for three years and she has never felt intimidated. Sure, he gets on the girls when necessary, but in the end, they walk away smiling. I have the utmost confidence that the time my daughter spends with the coaches in this organization will make her a better ballplayer and more importantly, a better person. I do agree with you about the resiliency of the kids. They probably haven't even thought about it since.

One last time,

The umpires did not misinterpertation the rules. We have always considered a new inning to start when the players were in position to start. Not when the last inning ends. In some age groups especially younger ones it can takes minutes to get out on the field.

The umpires made the call, and the UIC backed them up. That was thier jobs.

Having said that, we will take some of the positive advice offered by the likes of Johnnies and JoeA and others on here and make that clear in the rules. We are always working hard to make things better.
