When to cut a player?

Problem is that the center fielder was two steps away watching as it happened if she would have been at practices she would know the coach expects them to dive for anything that was a catchable ball.

I sure hope that the coach that set that expectation also took the time to ensure that each of those players knew the proper way to dive for a ball in all situations. It's easy for a coach to make those requests when they have no idea of the consequences of poor execution.

Agree! I remember learning the hard way, assuming girls know how to slide. Well it looked like a car wreck a few times. We now have regular sliding and diving practices.

The coach takes time to show the girls what she wants. When the girls are at practice coach will show them herself what she expects them to do. My DD is out at least a month with a broken bone in her arm.She had called for the ball, teammate called her off but it was after Mallory had started to dive.

Coach - cut this kid! If Rec ball is the priority, they are missing the point of what you are trying to do. There are several kids out there looking for the opportunity to grow and develop and be challenged; don't waste precious time and energy on folks that aren't committed to their team.
