I've watch the draft before when it was stream on the Internet. Paul the one thing I'm waiting to see is how many of the players actually drafted tonight go on to play in the NPF. In the past I've seen players drafted that took a pass on playing at the pro level. I like most of the picks Akron Racers made. But I was hoping to see then pick up more speed and power hitters. I felt they were weak last year when it came to putting run on the scores board and left way to many base runners stranded late in the game due to the lack of speed and solid hitting.

My DD was entered into the draft tonite but withdrew. All the teams vetted her heavily about if she was drafted would she play. She was very interested. While doing her research about being in the NPF she reached out to current players By the time she spoke to a lot of players, she decided against the NPF and is now in contact with Italy and Japan. She spoke to 2 current players that had good things to say, but the one girl she spoke to really killed her desire to play in the NPF. The current player really was negative about the conditions that the players had to endure while on the road. They were pretty much just herded into a city and played, then got back into minivans and on to the next venue. She said if she is going to be treated that way she would rather it be in a different country where she could at least take in some cultural highlights. From speaking to the Americans that have played internationally, they all have had the same story. Great experience and great folks to work for...

Just her opinion

BIG difference in oversees and in the US. This owners do not make much money and in some cases lose a lot of money ask Joey(Akron) her life savings for the love of the game. They do the best they can with the revenue stream they have. Besides the usssa pride which is owned by the richest man in softball (He owns ussssa) the other owners do not have that kind of money to sink into these programs. Also we do not support these teams on a large scale as you can see by the lack of interest on this thread. Now there are many reasons why, but one of the big ones is travel ball and rec ball games are the same time they play the season, and there is also no national TV. I'm sure there is more , and I could be a little off but you get the picture.

Oversees ball. Plan and simple the facts are they are owned by huge corporations that probably use it for a tax right off to some extent. Also the Japanese are more passionate about our players treat them like rock stars!

They way I took your post is that they don't treat them well, but I think your off base. They do the best they can with the revenue they have.

I feel like these girls play for the love of the game in the USA and to give back not for the money because I know they do not get paid much. There lifestyle is more like a A or AA major league ball player.

Sorry for the long rant and all the bad grammar I'm just trying to help people understand a little bit more of why and how there is a difference. If people want to change this get out to the games and support the sport!

Go to every game you can, take some people with you.

Catch every game you can on tv.

Email the network that broadcasts it and thank them.

Buy a frickin Racers hat or shirt or something.

I've seen it work for other sports. You can now catch every match of the NCAA wrestling tournament online and they show matches from every round on TV. A few short years ago they showed the finals and we all felt lucky that we got to see it.

It's real simple, boys and girls.

You can turn on ESPN most days and watch a card game from 2014 or a cheerleading competition from 2012. Why in the blue hell wouldn't they broadcast a pro softball game?

We haven't convinced them that there is a market for it.

Take all that energy people put in to getting Softball back in to the stinking Olympics and put it into the pro's and you would have something.

Ain't that the truth. I'm a fan of getting Softball back in the Olympic. But I'm not a fan of how much money has been spent to support the effort. I would like to challenge everyone to one simple things. Support your locate NFP Team. CBS Sports Network is Broadcasting 25 NPF games this year. Even if you can't attend the games, buy tickets and support the NPF. I've bought tickets myself and only attended one game. But I believe in supporting them, instead of given reasons why I can't.

WWolf. Didn't mean to come off as saying it wasn't good for a lot of players. Just saying that it is a grind but I appreciate all the women that give everything for the love of the game. I watch all the games I can when broadcast. No disrespect intended, it just wasn't the right fit for my DD.

Paul I'm already given away tickets for June 28th game. But you must attend the softball zone tailgate party to win free ticket, shirts, softballs or a Hoodie. I'll remove you from the dumb tshirt things (I'm not joking but your DD can still win one) LOL
