Who would you rather be?

It's the seventh inning of a tie ball game. Bases are loaded with 2 outs. Who would you rather be (or who would you want your daughter to be)? The pitcher or the batter?

Well if bases are loaded, then my DD is having trouble on the mound, so at this time I would want her to have the bat in her hand.

What if your daughter had just been put in as the relief pitcher?

My daughter says she would rather be the catcher and pick the girl off third base to end the game !!!!

If my DD had just come in as a relief pitcher, she would want to pitch and not be a bit shaken about the bases being loaded, she always gives it her all on the mound and she also realizes that anything can happen in a ball game.

softballkim - Tell your daughter nice comeback, i've seen it done.

The terminators - I know how you feel, my DD has been in this position more than once, sometimes she wins, sometimes the batter wins, that's why the game is fun to watch!

Score tied, absolutely the batter ... if team in the field is up by 1, absolutely the pitcher ...

I don't know where my kid would be - I'd be in the parking lot PACING and waiting for the cheers to start. 8)

thunderbolt_mom - I believe I know who your DD is and, having seen her pitch, I'm sure her being on the mound in this situation is the best thing. I do understand your feelings however. I've done my share of pacing during these types of scenarios myself. We had one just two weeks ago with our team ahead by 1 in the 7th, the home team at bat with runners on second and third with only one out and my DD on the mound. I did my share of pacing but they pulled it out for a win. I do however enjoy this type of game much better than a blowout, no matter which team wins.

I'm a pitcher and I have been put into that situation, and have done a good job at getting the team out of the situation. It's a tough situation to be in. For anyone who has a daughter thats put into that situation, I wish her luck. But, I think I would like to be the pitcher in that situation.

I rather be "Ohio Rays" and take over his spot in Florida. ;D

Seriously, a competitive pitcher strives for challenges and I can't think of more of a challenge that what was posted.

Thanks BucketDad - I'm sure she'd rather be on the mound than in the box. ;D
I guess my point was my kids NEVER cease to amaze me - yes, I claim all of the girls on our roster as my own - and they do give 100% most of the time; however, I know my own personal limitations and I think I'd be better doin laps! haha

I'd rather be the batter because the pitcher can only strike the batter out and end the game as a tie. Where a batter can win the game. ;D
