I am the TD (1st year) for the LGSA, coach a 10U team, and dodge the rain drops. We make it happen in Lancaster. :)

I am the manager of the 18-U Sunraze-Silver, and have been the assistant coach at Mentor Lake Catholic. My youngest has just graduated from high school and after 23 years of coaching, it looks like I'm going to be relegated to the bleachers in the future and watching her play in college. Hmmm ... maybe I need to look into the 23-U thing ...

My DD pitches and plays 2nd for the Buckeye Heat 93 team.

My wife and I split admin duties for the team.

I can sleep anywhere - even in a large folding chair facing a backstop on a windy day. (I will admit I prefer the cool mornings for naps, and not the hot, sunny afternoon pregame periods.)

I no longer have an identity of my own - I am just "Mo's Mom". DD is the catcher for Ohio Lady Warriors 10U team. Usually seen taking pictures of the team and spraying them all with sunscreen (DD is a red head).

Step 1 ... my name is pickledad, I am a sports junkie and addict

Step 2 ... I am more passionate about dd's sports than she is ... and she is VERY passionate

Beyond those baby steps, dd plays OF for Sapphires 14u, and is learning to ignore my rants and become her own young lady, student, and athlete ... a good thing. I am successfully driving towards becoming her own person. I will lure her back to be "friends" though in a few years with money and car keys ... ;)

Other than that, I keep the book, do what picklemom tells me to do (mostly ::)), and enjoy my 4 kids immensely (one of which is in uniform on the other side of the earth right now, hooah).

Hey Hillbilly - Tell DD ?-- ?NICE SHADES ?;D

Will do! Funny thing is she cant play without those crazy glasses. She is so used to them she feels weird playing without them (like a night game). Even when she is pitching she has to have them on, LOL!

lakeerie,

man, don't you just love the little ones? ?2 years ago, older sister loses her little brother (3) who was found petting a dog just a game away, my son, age 4, this year, can't get enough of running the bases....you can usually find little statman running around and forgetting to slide at home like his princess of an older sister....and little statbaby doesn't sit like a good little baby...if she's not eating, she's screaming for the Classics or crawling for food.

I hear ya brother! Cute story about the little one going off to pet the dog at the game next over. They have a mind of their own dont they at that age.
Problem we have now with our little boy is he likes to go into the girls duggout with his cars and trucks and bug the girls during the game. Some reason the dirt is better in there, LOL!

erie,
last year he was going around drinking their powerades and vitamin waters, this year he has stayed away from the dugout, but he slipped onto the field during a coaches meeting so he walked over to give the other coach the lineup---i tell you what, he is the chick magnet...if i was single, i would all my dating to him ;D

Pickledad and I are related since my dd also plays for the 14U Sapphires. ?She's the catcher (mostly). ?I'm known as the mom with the killer first aid kit. ?Past team members of my daughter have been known to find me because they know that I will respond to "do you have something for this [raspberry, rash, cut, burn, cuticle, etc]"

BTW -- Pickledad will answer with a smile any questions I have regarding the status of the game because his dd is famous for getting her knees torn up. ? ?;) ?Of course, most of the time I don't have questions because I am glued to the game behind the backstop, unless I am tending to the wounded in the dugout.
