OK..... maybe this is a silly question but I'm bored. If last years North Canton Hoover team played last years Keystone team, who do ya think would've won? Both state champs, different divisions, both great teams. Like I said I'm bored so bear with me here.

Having watched Keystone much more than Hoover, I'd go with Keystone. But I think a 10-game series would probably end up in a 5-5 tie.

No doubt, keystone. Far too athletic.

Kenzie Conrad is such a tough pitcher, both mentally and physically. She has a tremendous work ethic and can spot pitches with speed and movement at any time. Hard to beat that.

I'm opposite of Phil.....I've seen Hoover play alot and Keystone a couple times and I'd have to go with Hoover. They are a tough bunch of ladies. H....O.....O....V......E......R............HOOVER!!!!! We had 2 Hoover girls on our team last year and I've heard that cheer about a million times. :)

Hoover won the state title game with a sophomore pitcher that threw nothing but junk while the hitters from Hoover could hit all types of pitchers especially pitchers who throw hard as Kenzie Conrad from Keystone did, I would have to say Hoover probably by 5 runs to much of a well rounded team .

Lets just say Keystone beat Poland and Erin Gabriel in the semis went undefeated against a brutal schedule and was voted number 1 by MaxPreps and USA Today. They also had several Louisville Slugger All Americans the Gatorade Player of the Year and five girls signing NLI. I think Piazza and his girls would have at least kept it close. lol

That's Silly....I like the 5 and 5 comment a whole lot better and that's gracious.

i'd have to disagree with you on this statement...doesn't the Conrad girl have a mixture of speed and "junk"?

don't get me wrong, alot of hitters cannot HIT a junk ball pitcher but didn't Keystone set the homerun record last year?

i'm pretty sure that it would have been a VERY close game (any team, any day) but you are not giving Keystone their due credit. that team was loaded with great travel ball players that i'm sure, faced junk pitchers somewhere in their careers.

I thought this was discussed close to the end of last year? The comment about 5 NLI for Keystone probably should be clarified some. What division college were these? Example, Hoover had some D1 and some D2 NLI. Lilley is going to a Pac 10 school. Hoover had more than 5, but some are D2. Dillow, Warren, Lilley, Keisling, Farrah and Nist if I am not mistaken. And Russo no doubt had offers, but i never heard if she was playing in college. I am sure someone from Hoover will chime in the the correct amount.

I think I am in the 5 - 5 category. I think that Keystone had the best Ace pitcher, but Hoover had two very good pitchers and more depth. It would be a great seven game series to attend.

Not to say Kenzie Conrad wasnt good she was a fabulous pitcher with some mixture of off speed pitching, but for Hoovers coach to start a sophmore pitcher in the biggest game of the year and her control was amazing , I watched both games and thought that Hoover was the better all around team with offense, defense ,and coaching, its to bad we will never know it would have been fun to watch.

I saw hoover play a few times last year. Great D , great O....... never got to see keystone, but heard they were beasts! Broke h/r records, the pitching was outstanding. Would've loved to see these two go at it.

Hoover sophomore pitcher threw nothing but junk?? IMO she was more of a power pitcher (rise, screw) with very good location and a change that got better thoughout the year.

Anyhow... I would give a slight edge to Keystone in the circle. However, I would have given the edge to Lebanons freshmen pitcher over Hoovers as well and Hoover got past her in the D1 final. In the D2 semi's I think I would have also given that edge to Gabriel over Conrad. What's that mean? Maybe that good teams some times beat good pitchers?

Not sure there was a better hitting team 1-9 than Hoover and they were playing great defense at the end of the year. I believe all of the 10 starters (both pitchers) had (or will have) college offers. Two of them (I believe) chose not to play in college. DiPietro would have played D-1 as well but is playing D-1 golf instead.

No doubt, Keystone was loaded as well. Great matchup between two very talented team but I would give the edge to Hoover.

Definitely would pay to see that best of 7.

What a great fundraiser that would be for someone. Too bad it's probably against OHSAA rules.

I would have to say these 2 teams are pretty close in talent. While the pitcher from Keystone may be a little better, Lilly's hitting talent is unmatched. This game or (best of seven) might come down to coaching and thats where the difference is. Coach Goodpasture's knowledge and coaching skills are far more superior then Mr. Piazza's. This is what would give Hoover a 4-1 best of seven win.

Well, if they both win their first bracket game at Wendy's Classic in Ashland This April they will play on a Friday evening.

With a lot of new faces on both sides, I'm going with Hoover this year. After DD's hs team faced Keystone in a 4-1 loss last year and her travel team beat the Tidalwaves (a lot of Keystone players) @ Loudonville last summer, I would give the edge to Hoover last year as well.

Why do so many people line up to try and knock down what Keystone did? Summer ball has nothing to do with it! Way too many variables. I have a ton of respect for what Hoover has done but they lost 3 games. I would also like too see how they each did against common opponents. I guarantee you that they would have dropped what they were doing to play if Hoover wanted.
