Uber_Jones said:I kind of agree with Dragbunt and here is my take on this. The one thing I think could solve alot of our issues with this is having "A" and "B" brackets in every big tourney. Of course, some coaches want their kids to get the expierence of playing against the better teams, but that is where TD's could step in, if a team isnt good enough to be in the "A".
I am all for kids getting a chance to get better by playing, ?Do you really think at the 14,16 and 18U levels they want to be beating some thrown together travel team by 20 runs in the middle of a 4 game saturday? Its painfully boring for everybody involved.
Kids get better by playing and having success, they wont get better being dominated and over-matched.
In Hockey there are all kinds of different level of travel teams and tourneys, there are AAA, AA, A, and All-stars. There is some cross-overs in tourneys, but most teams try and play at the level they are, softball could easily do the samething. A ASA Tourney could be "AA" and "AAA" only bracket and have a "A" and All-stars in another bracket.
Just my thoughts,I do think, just like drag bunt said all the kids should get a chance to play. I think its wonderful that any kid in NWO that wants to play can play.
Softball is a great sport and like UB said we should be trying to grow the sport, I just dont think a team is going to stay together or have any fun if they go an entire season with just 2 or 3 wins.
I like your idea Uber. Never thought of that. I guess that is why they have National's A and National's B. ASA Easterns ect...
643dp... I was just quoting an artical I read just 2 years ago about why girls quit sports. It was in a magazine by NFCA.
