done it .... do it. Gotta play ball.

Here is a better poll. If the porta pot at Uncle stans if full, would you pitch in and help empty it?

I worked on 4 different fields on Saturday after the down pour at Uncle Stans with a park and rec employee. Coaches jumped in to help us on one of the fields. It didn't seem to a problem with the fellow I was working with but he had a conversation with another park employee that didn't seem too happy. Maybe they thought I was cheating them out of overtime. I help with the Spirit 12U team and just wanted to give the teams a chance to play.

Someone else got the field I was at so I missed part of my DD's game but they did better without me. ;D

All great arguments and cases. I got to jump on the fields a couple of times this weekend as I wanted my event to get finished on the field if at all possible. I was also fortunate as the heads groundskeeper is an old ball playing buddy/former NSA umpire from years past and was fine with what we were doing. Now if his boss had been around the park.............

Speaking to the negative, I have had a park official "threaten" me with keeping my field deposit for doing my own maintenance at Busch Park a couple of years ago during a rain delay in the middle of a tournament. They wouldn't send anyone up to help or recondition, so I drove over to Home Depot and bought a couple of rakes, shovels, and bucket. Myself and several coaches and umpires got them playable again in about an hour.

I have to walk a fine line as I have to deal with these same folks over and over again several times a season and need to be on speaking terms to "get things done" or get extra help.

Of course I could go back to Westerville and get absolutely no help like I did the couple of seasons I was up there for my fast pitch events. Nah, I don't think so.

Everyone be safe this weekend and do the "no rain" dance at your complex/hotels.
