Re: To Quiet in the GWOC

Wayne's Nicol Chesley verballed to Malone university and Angie Clark is heading to urbana university. Both very good friends and so wanted to play together but we couldn't get it to work. As there coach for the past seven years these schools are getting very fine students and very competitive athlethe's that know how to win. We couldn't be prouder of these two young ladies as they are the first class to go to the college level from the Roadwarriors summer organzation. Keep up the good work girls.

That is out standing. I cant tell you how cool it is to see this class that has played against one another all these years to take the next step.......

And by the way John yall have way to good of a squad to get anything lol.

Todd after the way yall played us at Sinclair I think you should spot us points

Honestly that may have been the best defense I have seen C'ville put on the field since the Colleen Schneider days....you won't see it on the field though, too many seniors on the roster

Re: To Quiet in the GWOC

Don't know names, but the starting pitcher, catcher and left fielder (red hair) all impressed me last season. Red hair can hit and track a ball. Very impressive.

I know they lose some major players from graduation, Sierra Breeze should be pitching for varsity without a doubt, can't think off the top of my head who else was playing JV last year....

Fairmont Varsity will have all seniors with the exception of 1 returning junior and possibly 1 other Jr. or soph.

Fairmont lost starting CF, LF, 3B, 1B & 2B/P to graduation last year. Big holes to fill no doubt, (2010 grad CF Brianna Mulkey was just named South Atlantic Conference player of the week in her first week as a freshman at LMU)

Fairmont returns P, SS, 2B, C, RF as starters. A couple gaps will be filled by JV's moving up and a couple were varsity last year. The new CF, LF, 1B, 3B all has varsity experience.

Jessie Walk returns for her 4th year as a varsity starter and will be the pitcher / anchor at Fairmont. She has signed to Rio Grande for next year to play SS.

Congrats to Jessie, Rio gets a good player. Another notch in the xpress belt for college players.

Both DD's going to visit there Friday....

Good luck on the visit, really enjoyed our visit at Malone, coach Hartman is really down to earth and interested in bringing in good people first and building a solid softball team. I really think my dd liked that there was alot to do around there and the campus wasn't out in a rural area. We were invited to attend there camp on saturday but don't know if that's in our plans yet. Some of the current players have been texting dd to come up and hang out after the heard she verballed so this weekend may be a good one to go. Again good luck and hope you find something that will make your dd happy for four years.

Re: To Quiet in the GWOC

Well, softball officially starts for my girls now that their basketball season ended today. Sorry to see them lose a heartbreaker, but at least they have softball.
On another note, while playing Wayne today, Wayne got a huge scare when GWOC all league and Central POTY short stop Angie Clark went down with a leg injury. But the tough player she is, she hopped up, ran off the court, came back and hit a huge three and a big assist on the game winning three. Girl is tough as nails.
I hear she is now not playing softball to concentrate on basketball. Just a rumor I heard (or started)......;&

c-ville, We were in the area visiting friends and happen to stop by and seen the girls when they were doing the pitching lesson, i looked for you but was told grandma was there with the girls. dd had to get her malone gear.
Coaches are very nice and i think the players respond well to them and like there youth as i would say there late 20's early 30's.
Overall looked like the camp was a real success and seen some good talent.

I'm biased but I'm putting my money on Paul Martin's Centerville to win their division. Having Kat on the mound with little Hopf behind the plate is a serious battery.

I am not ready to call this one yet. Heaven forbid but an injury or two could really change the way things look. There is a lack of depth at key positions on a lot of the gwoc teams. Gonna wait a little while longer on this one.

Like I said earlier........I think there will be more parity in GWOC this year than ever before. Xpressdad right on the money about injuries......and on any given day a pitcher gets hot....ya never know.......consistency will be the key this year! Doubt anyone goes unbeaten....our last go around so gonna enjoy this year.

Miamisburg, enjoy the season...my dd graduated in 2009 and did not go on to play in college (wanted to concentrate on her school), last year was kind of a bummer. But I have renewed passion again, coaching makes the hole seem a little smaller. haha

No offense Msbg, but I think the dominators from last year will continue, Northmont, Wayne, Lebanon and Miamisburg with West Carrollton and Greenville mixing it up. The South division has 4 teams with the pitching necessary to win GWOC.

Home games will be played behind studebaker jr high. We have put together two softball fields that were formally baseball fields they actually looked pretty good before the snow starting falling, fences are installed and should be a nice field to play at least for the next couple year.
