I will get to see many of these top teams in action at Garrettsville this upcoming weekend as our team will be there. Should be fun to watch.
Which team had a girl that threw 50 in your opinion. I am not sure but I would think 45-47 would be impressive at this age. Also did you notice how many different pitches these girls were throwing?
Was this speed clocked with Radar or just someone's professional assumption. I watched Ice and Grand Slam scrimmage and didn't see 50 mph. Grand Slam had a girl blowing it by but I doubt it was 50 or higher. Just curious if radar was used.

What is your back ground as to say they were not throwing 50
I have heard so many Dads say there daughters are pitching 48,49 , or even 50 and when you put a gun on them it's more like 44,45, or 46. At 35 feet 44 looks fast but it's still 44. Plus by the time due to pitcher stride it's more like 30 feet. I am not trying to discredit any of these girls. I am just reiterating that if these girls are throwing 50 plus that's amazing for a 10 year old.
Thunder Elite always puts out a good 10u team

Seams like there are always a couple of kids who can legitimately throw 50 at 10u, but not nearly as many as claim to. It is impressive to see and will scare off most hitters at 10U. When we were in 10u, AP & KK could do it. The next year of 10U - RP, CV, and a few others could. There are always a few. Don't underestimate some of the young ones.
By 11u most teams have 1 or 2 pitchers who can throw that fast.
This one I can certainly agree with. I will say though that if know my kid will be able to hit 50+ at that level... she won't be at that level. Seems a waste to plow thought 90+% to find a good game. Or have to play the same 3 teams all summer long!
In my opinion, you would want your kid to stay at her own age at 10u if she is throwing 48-50. Most likely your kid isn't throwing 48-50 when there is a batter in the box and may have some control issues if they are. So let your kid get some experience in the circle to try to get some control. There are a few that can throw hard with great control though. But if your kid is throwing that hard, she must be working hard during the week and at the games on the weekends. By nationals 10u year, they should be throwing hard with control. ASA Nats you will see all the pitchers throwing 48-52 on every team at 10u. 2-3 pitchers on the same team for that matter. I wouldn't consider moving up a good pitcher until after her 11u year, JMHO.
