12U Slammers best in Ohio history?

They are a great team and a great organization, they beat our 14U team in the Championship at Willoughby 4-0. We played them in pool play at GAPSS, they beat us 10-0, but Cincy Doom beat them for their first loss, then we faced them again and we beat them 2-1 for their 2nd loss and sent them home. It was a great game, but they do have 2 losses no matter how you count it. If the wins count then so do the losses you can't have it both ways, or we would all be undefeated! They are a great bunch of kids who deserve credit for their wins and their losses, it will only make them better in the future as ball players and as young women. They need to be taught to win & lose graciously. But most of all they are 12U and should be having fun no matter what!!!

It is ashame the ego's have to get these posts going. ?Around their games at GAPSS I heard people wishing them to lose because of the bragging on the boards. ?Isn't that a shame, a young talented team that would normally be cheered for, is being jeered due to these post and a few comments from the parents. ?When they lost, I heard them address the winning team with: " how does it feel to beat a bunch of 12 year olds." ?Come on. ?Put your egos in check and let the girls play. ?This was also the first time I saw any of the girls act unsportsmen like, guess it is rubbing off on them now.
What a shame. ?This isn't good for the girls on that team either.

Noticed that as well at GAPS. ITs too bad that these girls git pumped up just to get let down when they do indeed lose. All these boneheaded comments that they are undefeated get real. And the comments about 14's beating on 12's who cares. I gueass bigman should'nt be putting them in with the 14's if they the parents and players can't handle it when they take an L.

Woolfman, sorry as referring to an organization...have you seen their coaching staff? It is an organization all in itself! I heard at GAPSS the 3rd base coach was ejected, but that is strictly heresay...it wasn't during the Swarm game so it would have been against Cincy Doom. He was fine during the game against the Swarm. But you know how news travels at the ballpark could have been nothing....but I will say it again, what a great group of "little" girls, they are awesome and should be very proud.

I think there are alot of parents that need to check their egos at the front door. Ive seen alot of GREAT teams, but not once have I seen the Lasers Green, Doom, Nightmare, either Ice teams, Lasers Orange brag about how great there team is. The girls and there parents let everyone else talk about how good they are. Also GREAT teams dont go asking for players to play with them in Cali. So does Bill have a GREAT team as his parents think, so if you keep telling yourself your great eventually you will believe it!!!! Just let the girls play, and grow up, they are a bunch of great girls that are being brought down by each one of you braggers and boasters.

I was not at that game but I do know Bill argued a call that he felt changed the course of the game. I think we've all experienced that scenario before with our own teams.

great point. slammers have a good team and great kids...but the actions of the coaches and parents at times is unreal...seen them inside & outside..it doesnt change.
parents should relax and let your girls play!

Hockeyebuckeye, you have got to be kidding!!! I was in attendence at the Stingrays game and Bill acted like a total TOOL. Any TD with commen sense would not allow a team back if their leader used that type of language in front of 12 year olds. BTW I have no affiliation with the the Stingrays, either last year or this year.

When Bill is winning he seems like an alright guy and a very good coach to talk X's and O's with, as I've experienced before, but as soon as his team is losing and down deep he believes they cannot compete, then he loses it. A classic case of Jeckle and Hide at it's worst. I was also told that both the Ohio Swarm (are they a new team?) and Cincy Doom blew several chances to expand the scores by leaving runners in scoring position. Did Bill feel the pressure causing him to lose it again at GAPSS? I don't know, I wasn't there, but if anyone wants to PM me with just the facts, it would be entertainment at it's best.

Honeybuckeye......The Stingray tournament is a very upstanding tournament. They don't base the teams invited on whether they have or have not beaten a Stingray Team. EVERYONE that seen his actions at this tournament last year knows EXACTLY why he was not invited back. Maybe if he would have been playing any team other than a "Stingray" team when he threw his fit, he would have been ejected from the rest of the tournament. It's a shame that the girls on this team have to pay the price.
