16u ASA Eastern A- York.. just how bad is it?

This year 16 U Est As are in York PA.. for those that have been, can a Team have a good/safe time there . Appreciate any insights.

There is a thread from either last year or the year before on this. I'll search and find it. If I recall correctly, many said that York wasn't so bad and TheBearMay even posted crime stats.

We were in York last summer for a tournament. I never felt uncomfortable or unsafe with the environment. The playing facilities were very average, but the people running the tournament were very nice.

Been there. Just fine. Depending on where you stay and how you get to fields might have to drive through one not so great section of downtown. We had 0 problems. Great side trips to hershey and gettysburg while we were there. Lots of history in that area.

Have gone there 4 times for Eastern Nationals and have never had a problem. If you have ever been to Salem or Sterling you will be disappointed in the facilities and the general atmosphere of the tournament. It is not a bad venue, just not up to what it should be. Opening ceremonies have been a joke and I think they need to work on getting teams to participate in that. Not a whole lot to do when you're not playing unless you want to drive to Hershey. JMHO
