You can find an entry form on our website: www.eteamz.com/ohiowolfpack/

It will be uploaded in the next few days! Thanks for your interest in our Fall college showcase. We had 32 teams attend last fall and filled up very fast. So once we upload the entry form you might want to get your information sent in asap!

Chuck,

Am I correct in reading from your post and Jamie's post that you are cutting the entry field this year from 32 teams last fall to 18 teams? Will that include any kind of restriction on players who have already committed to a college or played in college? Just wondering as we will be speaking with our families over Nationals about what this fall will possibly entail and I can't get a good feel for the reasons why your tournament has dropped the numbers of team in the field. I'm sure they are good reasons.

I'm also assuming that this will be a mixed draw of 2011 16u, 18u (and maybe 14u) teams?

Thanks.

Definately a "mixed draw" of 16u's & 18u's (2012 status). That has been the norm.
This tournament has had over the years anywhere from 18-24 teams. Last year,
it really ballooned.... to 32! The ideal number for this tournament, assuming the utilization of 7 fields (which is what we had last year), is probably 28-30. Also, we have never limited/prevented players who have committed ( or signed ). Fall tournaments are already difficult enought to fill rosters for. Preventing additional players from participating would make it that much tougher. Hope this clears things up a little.

How many teams are registered at this point?

I want a shot at getting in, however, I won't have all the money right away - I am still filling up the roster and am pulling girls from more than 1 organization just to give them exposure.

Can I turn in the registration form and send the money after?

This showcase fills up VERY fast, so please get us your entry forms as soon as possible.

See you in October!!!

Is the entry form still accurate when it states that spots will not be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather all timely applications will be reviewed to determine who will be invited?

Thanks.

As of today, we have 6-7 registrations received.
We prefer that all registrations are accompanied
with the the entry fee. We will not consider a team
for the tournament without the entry fee turned in,
so it really doesn't help a team get in, and it adds
more paperwork on our end. This tournament does
not fill on a first-come basis, so getting your completed
entry packet to us on Aug 31st is not a disadvantage
compared to another team that sent it in on Aug 10th.
With that being said... (there's always an exception)...
if two teams are considered "equal", we will use the date
received as a tie-breaker. This does not happen very often,
but it COULD come into play.

Chuck, would there be a way to see the college programs that actually attended Best of the Best in the Fall of 2010 or for earlier years? As you know , Laser Nation has announced a Fall Showcase down in Grove City for that weekend and several of us who put together tentative schedules for fall exposure tourneys are scratching our heads whether to stay more locally or travel on the thought that an established fall tournament will have more college coaches.

Thanks.

As far as college coaches go, here's what I can tell you. We have averaged
25-30 coaches over the past few years, representing approximately 20-25
schools. We've had in the past:

University of Akron
Bowling Green
Ohio University
Miami University
Buffalo
Eastern Michigan
Cleveland State
Wright State
Ohio State
Mount Union
Walsh
Malone
Muskingum
Ashland
Wheeling University
Hillsdale
Marietta
Lake Erie College
Notre Dame College
Ohio Domincan
University of Kentucky

I know I'm missing quite a few, but these are the ones that come to mind
Not every school, every year... but we've had a good mix. Jamie invites
most (if not all) the colleges in Ohio plus some in surrounding states. He will
get some confirmations, but a lot show up without us expecting them.
The KEY for getting college coaches to the event are two-fold:
1) The tournament committee does a good job of accepting good teams
that have girls currently being followed
2) The players MUST get the information out to the colleges coaches that
they are interested in with the tournament information, dates & times
that they are scheduled to play, and invite them to come and watch!

Obviously, quite a few coaches come on their own, as they have become
accustomed to this Showcase Event, which has been held on the same weekend
for years, and has built a reputation as being a place that both teams and college
coaches want to attend.

Hope this helps answer all of the questions out there, and we look forward to another
successful event this October.
