I've heard a lot of stories this year.

Survey time: Coaches, how many players have left your team - not injury related - since January 1st? Reasons such as Quit, "Fired", Retired, Burnt Out, Moved, Jumped Ship Mid-Stream, etc....

Please indicate the number who have left in the survey section. Add interesting comments (i.e. - want to concentrate on so**er, didn't receive superstar treatment, etc..) + age group in a "reply".

Zero left, zero totally lost to injury. Had several hurt and out for various reasons. have an unbelievably strong bond within our girls and parents. Great to see and don't want it to end...

Technically none, however we do have one that shows up for practice but not for the last 2 or 3 tourneys. She was at practice yesterday......

16U Mid Ohio Lady Bullets have had none quit. Added one just before the start of the season, and have had several approach us about playing for us next year.

I'll just add that we will more than likely not be having team tryouts for 2010 but will be having personal/individual tryouts for anyone that is interested. We will be moving up to 18U next year and have a tremendous core group of girls looking to return.

PM me or send me an email if you are interested in a personal tryout. No tryouts will be performed until after we return from Nationals in early August.

No quitters on our team and so far have been injury free. In fact had two ask to join us!

I think it is more of a problem of parents who don't think their superstar is getting enough attention or playing time than the kids being quitters....not always, but mostly.

Well without having to say what 12u team my DD plays on lets just say i would have to take off both socks and i still wouldn't have enough to count. Only 1 left due to injury all the other Due to the Coach. Some won't agree it was all the coach but i am there every practice, game and meeting and belive me it was. It is sad to say but alot of the girls don't want to play anymore because of the way they were treated and they think thats what all "travel Ball" coaches are like.. Quote of the day " Girls This Isn't Wreck (REC) Ball" thats all we herd all year long a broken F*&^() Record

After reading some of the post i thought i was dreaming. Teams that haven't lost any girls on a single team is great let alone 4-5 teams. That is what i call great coaching not putting a few girls above the rest, treating everyone equal, making everyone part of the team. Thats what i am looking for in a team for my DD.

Good poll. I also think it would be interesting to see what percentage of girls move to another organization during tryouts.

Boy do i have some stories from this year. Question for Coaches, parents any anybody. This goes with the other treads i have posted today but anyways. We have had one parent at a tourny last year and one this year in front of may people our parents other parents, players, coaches M-F ing the Head coach in front of everyone about another player on the same team telling her daughter she made a mistake and then this year the same parent the same coach the same M-F ing infront of even more people about a uniform. A uniform we have some "classy" parents and last week a parent giving the same coach a ultimatum about there kid should play a certain base only and no other postion or they weren't coming back. That one's pretty easy on what he should have done. But that is what i have to deal with every practice and sitting in the peanut gallery on the sidelines at every game. You have to laugh or you will go crazy!!!!!!

Wow, I have to admit we finished with the same girls we started with. Had a pretty good year. New team, and some growing pains but all and all I think both my DDs made some friends. Won some games, won some hardware. They found out things about people in general. Found out somethings about themselves. I have to call this year another year in travel softball.
