Thacker is OUTSTANDING , she seems to fly under the radar somewhat but to be honest she's the best I've seen in a couple years ... ( Have not seen Alvelo pitch in a couple years ) . She's a top level D1 recruit for sure .

I agree Thacker is a good HS pitcher and deserves to be in this conversation.

However, top tier D-1? If so, being a '14 I would expect that someone would already have locked her up. Has she verballed?

Don't know the young lady but maybe she has an offer but she is deciding top tier education over top tier softball. Either way, nobody but her family knows what kind of offer she has and what she is looking for in college.
I recall number 1 pick in NFL this year played in MAC so what is top tier?

Certainly no argument with choosing education over softball. I also strongly agree that every player and family has their own reasons for their choices.

I don't know the young lady either. I know she has done well in HS ball for Hoover.

That said, no offense to the MAC but your NFL draft analogy is just silly.

Jessica Wilson- 2016 - Tecumseh HS (Division 2- Central Buckeye Conference)
Doing her job as a freshman pitcher... 3rd in conference with ERA 2.17; 4th in strikeouts- 85. Hard work is paying off, but there's more work to be done. :)

By top level I really didnt mean a SEC team or Pac 12 . She has great stuff and great control and keeps beating tough teams . But I didnt see her speed on the gun . Kid is just really tough . I though the same thing about not being locked already , but college choice is a tricky matter .. look at Sito . mid major to starting at Ga. ( not to say she's not SEC or Pac 12 material . I really dont know , I saw her throw 5 innings against weaker competetion in an ice storm) But her record at the highest levels in ohio speak for its self.

If there's that many studs at D3 thru D1 in Ohio, then I'm going to state this for the last time, GET THE HELL OUT OF OHIO AND PLAY SOME COMPETITION IN OTHER STATES, or keep attending the small schools the state offers, which isn't bad, but nobody can tell me they wake up one day and want to play for Ohio Weselyan or Olentangy!
I'm so happy to have seen or watched play, all the Ohio girls that have played with the Bandits who travel the country to play and strive to play the best to obtain a SCHOLARSHIP to play at the next level and desire to win a NATIONAL TITLE IN EITHER ASA OR PGF! Your parents thank you too for the savings in the long run!!
Keep this in mind as you compare all these pitchers; Gabriel set the bar for Ohio Pitchers, and she didn't play much as a freshman, but will next year!!

I know that they have a sister that is a freshman on the roster right now. Listed as a catcher not sure if she pitches or not.

Wasn't "marketing" just giving her a compliment. If you know the history with Springboro softball, you would realize that a one run loss to Lebanon is a WIN for Springboro. They have a very strong team and it's nice to see an underdog compete. BTW I think you meant "throw".

lebanaon beat boro 14-0 in the other game. did she pitch that one?

No, unfortunately she didn't. No idea why, but I guess that is the big question of the season.

Elyria High School is in the State Semifinals, having beaten Oregon Clay 4-1. Pitcher Caitlyn Minney has surrendered only 1 earned run in 5 playoff games. Way to go Elyria and Cait!

I would venture to guess mentor will lose and even if she gets totally rocked, she had a great finish and great opportunity.

this goes to prove you are one pitcher away from turning your season around ( in high school).

Chalk another shutout for Caitlyn Minney and Elyria High, beating Mason 5-0. Minney gave up only 3 hits while striking out eight tonight. Good job Cait and the Lady Pioneers!

She is young and it showed. Best I can say is she threw strikes.

Showed how weak the Akron region was.
