When trying out for an organization, If they have 2 or more teams can u request a particular coach??? If you make a team for that organization and dont play for that coach do you still play?? I have seen some very good coaches and some mediocre coaches for the same organizations and was wandering on some thoughts about this issue..
I prefer the best for my kid and would take a coach over an organization......

Absolutely, at least in any organization that has that policy. Of course it doesn't mean that coach may want that player. We always equate it to finding the right piece of the puzzle. We tell our girls to talk to the coach before committing to find out the tournaments they participate in, the coach's philosophy and style, to inquire about his potential roster and what the role is antiicipated for the girl.
Do what is right for your daughter.

on our tryout for on August 11th/12th, every player can indicate a coach they prefer to play for, and also a coach they will not play for. Our tryout format has EVERY coach at each age level only evaluating their potential players, to allow the players and parents to interact and to ask questions of the individual coaches. check us out at http://eteamz.active.com/sgsfastpitch/ if you'd like more information.

I don't want to speak out of turn but on the Buckeye Heat's registration/tryout form, there is a section where you can check the name of the coach you want to try out for. If you check more than one, each coach gets a copy of the tryout form.

I believe that Buckeye Heat will have a similar form this year. The difference is in how the players fill the form out. If they have a preference for the coach, they should put a number 1 next to the team they wish to have as a first choice. If they have no preference/priority, they will put a check mark next to the age group teams they wish to try out for.

I believe the plan for this year - at least at the younger ages, is for each Buckeye Heat team to be age-specific as much as possible.

So, the two 14U teams will be:

Buckeye Heat 93
Buckeye Heat 94 - (a true 13U team)

The coaches will be focusing on girls that were born in that year so that teams can stay together more easily. Playing up is possible, playing down will be the exception, according to the release JoeA has posted to the tryouts board.
