Carol, I loved reading your posts. I always learned something from them whether it was about fastpitch, how to deal with people or gaining an insight about how classy you are as a person. It was invariably fascinating. I had always hoped I'd get a chance to meet you, and I still do. We are all poorer for not having you on OFC and in fastpitch. All the best.

Wow, Carol.....sorry to see this, but know that this decision was not taken lightly. The softball community has lost several of the best female voices in the community this past year! I have enjoyed getting to know you from "afar" and like others have said, respected you for everything you do in this sport. It is amazing how easy "other passions" surface when you are not doing softball every weekend and lineups at night. I know you will not "waste away" your days! Remember, as Jimmy Buffet sings: breathe in, breathe out and move on. Take care of yourself and I am sure I will still see you around the fields!

You only need to look at the amount of hits this thread has on it since 9am this morning to see the respect generated by Carol. I will send a private message to her through the Buckeye Heat tree, but there is no doubt about the passion and love she has for the game and the girls. I think we'll see her quite frequently, and if she ever wants to coach up a few players, the 97's can always use the help.

Wow, Carol that is a shame that you have to do what you have to do. I belive you filled in for my DD when she played on Jen and Emily's team one weekend two summers ago and stuff like that is what makes the great ones great for the love of the girls...
