Pathetic,
I do not disagree with what you would like to see accomplished. I just think we are looking at it from the wrong side. In order to get that elite team, we need the combination of coaching and facilities to attract those athletes. I am not bashing coaches here, and I realize they are nearly all (I don't know any paid) volunteers, but what are we (coaches) doing to educate and improve our skills? NFCA coaches clinics, I know there are some going, and putting out the money and time to do so, but I haven't heard it is SRO. I am sure there are other sources, and I am not selecting one as the best, just citing an example. As parents are we willing to pay to have our DD's coach attend? Great coaches don't just wake up one day, they work and learn from those that have gone before. Great coaching will attract talent, it may take time, but it will happen. I guess that is my point, athletically, there is bound to be as much talent in Ohio as there is in Indiana etc. Does our softball community have what it takes to attract the best athletes to our sport?
