I am one of the many coaches looking for 1 more pitcher . While I check the players looking on a dailey basest I notice that many of the players have posted in their threads that they have found a team ..... So why do I see post after that still saying "sent you a pm " , or " were you located " , or " so and so team would like to take a look at your DD " ? Do these coaches even read the threads or what ? Would you want your DD playing for a coach who over looks their post saying " they already found a team " ? This goes right along with the teams posting looking for players in the players looking for teams ! I dont get it !

I agree! It's called being lazy ... one of the qualities of the coach you'd want to have your kid play for right?

I believe that many times it is because the original thread post is updated after the fact to let everyone know they are no longer looking.

Good point ... that could be happening some of the time ... but I have also seen coaches reopen threads that are a year or more old as well ... some aren't reading them also ...

Then on 8-18 , 8-19 , 8-20 , and again today someone asked about the player or invited them to try out ! There was no updating of an origanal post on this one , lol !!!

Moderators may have to host a seminar on How-To 101 for ppl like me on quotes, deleting, and maybe etiquette.

Why can't those threads be removed? There should be an option to remove by the OP the entire post in that section...

ech92, you are right on point and I totally can't believe that no one has responded to this post either agreeing or disagreeing.

I'm not sure I agree. Not even coaches are perfect all the time, seems petty to point out there mistakes and claim they are "lazy". They donate their time to instructing young athletes probably after working 10 hrs....mowing the lawn...ect. Probably dosent have the time to disect the postings the way some apparently do. Take it out of their pay. Lol

In one of the threads the poster states 3 times that they found a team , yet coaches still keep asking them to try out . Come on man , you have to be somewhat thorough if you want to coach a successful travel team .

I totally understand the thought, I do. Just not sure it needs drug through the mud, that's all.

If a coach is actually scouting and looking for additional players for his team, then it is his place to do some homework! Why should either his current players or potential new player want to be part of his team???

If a coach sees a Post "Player Looking"..... He should first see when the post was made & check when was the last time the poster was actually on the site. If the coach sees that a Post was made 6 weeks ago (before tryouts even began) and the poster has not even been on the site for over a month.....then WHY would he waste his time to leave a message of any kind??? It shows he is a lazy coach! And if he doesn't scan the previous posts before replying - well, he is asking to be dragged thru the mud & deserves to be! (or Ranted & Raved about in this forum!!!)

I just took this as a rant in the rant and rave section ... not a mud-dragging :)

WOW, just saw a real doozy................................

A Thread from over 14 Months Ago where a Pitcher was looking to sub for the last month of the 2013/14 season............
And who has not even been back on the site for nearly a year!!!! These are coaches I know, know better! I guess it has to do with getting the extra word out to all those re-reading the threads.......All publicity is good..........
