Drinking between games

I guess I must be old school. I heard at a certain tournament last year there were parents drinking in between their daughters games< not just beer either, hard liquor, then actually attacked a former coach. Are you serious? The president and coach of that organization were made fully aware of what happened and they did nothing about it. Who in their right mind would play for a coach or organization that defends that type of behavior? Is that now acceptable? Why would any coach let that family stay on their team? Why would any organization want that family to represent them? Like I said, I must be old school, they would never play for me or my organization. Never, no way , no how!!! Am I wrong thinking this way?

WOW! Are these parents sending the message that the games are so painful to watch that they have to "medicate" themselves with hard liquor? I'm all for a few cold brewskies AFTER the games, but between games? Some "kids" just never grow up - even after they become parents.

Sammy, I am not afraid of a few cold ones back at the hotel, even then I feel somewhat guilty drinking in front of the girls, but between games? I just think that is totally out of line, and not to be held accountable for their actions , is even worse. A long look in the mirror by that family might be in need.

Seen it many times, don't like it and think there's a place and time but the field isn't one. Personally, I don't choose to as I don't weigh enough to drink a few and value my license for my job more than putting back a few... That's just me though and don't judge others who choose to, but there is a time and place...

We played at a venue (adult softball park) this past summer and they were selling alcohol during the games. Needless to say, a team we were playing scored a few runs on us and a couple of the dads from said team starting growing some beer muscles. I'm guessing the team did not score runs or take a lead very often. Anyway, once our team righted the ship and pulled way ahead of the other team the beer muscles eventually turned into hangovers.

People are gonna drink or do whateve they chose. Wonder how many pop some pills every day - can't believe how that seems to be the favorite past time of lots of Americans today.......

But I sure would like to hear more about ATTACKING the former coach!!!! What happened???? How has this went well over a month before something being posted about something like this???? Give us the 41 on what happened.....Cause you are right, drunk, high, or stone cold sober - that should not be happening!!!

Long Story....... Going on what I heard... Mom and dad both attacked former coach in parking lot, too much alcohol, no brains, and just ignorant. I don't see a need for anyone to be drinking liquor in between your daughters games. This isn't mens slow pitch. They are from one of the well known organizations, and for the coach and president not to do anything, should tell everyone about that organization. Swept it under the rug, and then another well known organization picked up the girl for their team next year , and they know exactly what happened. I am not coaching any more, but I do know one thing, that family would never play for me , I dont care how good she was.

Saw it twice last year...selling alcohol at games. PGF in Indy had a golf cart going around at the complex selling $2 margaritas!

Well, the first thing that needs to be addressed is the fact that you "heard" about all this. You didn't actually see it for yourself, so it is just a rumor. Second, I know the situation of which you speak, I think. If it is what I think it is, from what I heard, you have some crucial details wrong.

Moral of the story, unless you saw it with your own eyes, our heard it with your own ears, don't spread it with you mouth (or fingers, in this case).

Having a drink at home while playing on OFC is different than getting poop-faced and making a scene in public.

I don't drink in front of the girls at any time. A coach is a roll model for the players and even tho I am of age, I choose to take this serious enough to set an example both on and off the field. I can live with a weekend without a beer.

Well said. A coach who drinks in front of the girls between games is not a coach we will ever associate with.

That does not sound that bad to what went down at our nationals in Columbus. The 2 coaches and a couple of the dads got hammered at the pool while the girls were swimming. This was such a outstanding organz. they booked a no tell motel for us to stay in with a gentlemens club attach to it. After all the pool fun was done, these guys went to go visit the Wet Bar. This is who i want to be influencing my daughter,as soon as i saw that i book another hotel. I felt sorry for the other parents who were not able to get out of that rat infested hole. Thats why every chance i get to tell my story of this organz. to other parents i will. This organz. is on here toting their are one of the best in N.E. Ohio. I feel sorry for the parents that are going to get fool this year like i got last year. I will be spreading the good news through out all the tournys. this year. These men all have wives and multiple daughters , this is probably why they won't fell bad if someone is watching their daughter dance on a table in the future. Scumbags
