Just wanted to confirm that once you played up in a sanctioned tourney you cannot play down again correct?
I.e. 16u one tourney then play for a 14u

Fire away if I'm wrong but in most sanctions it used to be true that she cannot fall back if the tourney played in was a regional or national qualifier tourney and her team won the berth. Not all tourneys are qualifier tourneys. Oh, she would need to be on the roster when the team was awarded the berth. Huh? Yes, there's been ghost players appear in tourneys yet once a check was made after the event her name was never on the roster. As long as there are rules you'll find people trying to break them. Others just don't know the rules. It's been my experience to leave such matters alone and let those enpowered to enforce to handle it. Nobody ever gave me a badge and told me to police rosters at tournaments. If it's so blatantly wrong it'll be corrected in due time.

It's not a sin to be stupid, just unhandy.

Don't mean to hijack but I have a similar question. ASA ENQ. Team shows up Saturday and plays their pool games. Sunday they show up with 2 new girls that were not there Saturday. Both girls are rostered with other teams. Can they "legally" play but just not take the bid if they win? If a team lost to said team and they protest their roster not being accurate would they get the win and the other team get disqualified? I know its just Easterns and just about anyone can go but I was curious what the rule is on this.

ASA made a change this year which allows pick-up players in a younger age group. They just can't go from Class A down to B.

Wait ... let's say it's an ASA National Qualifier ... are you saying a team can bring in someone not on their roster, play a bracket game, knock another team out of the tourney, and that's OK as long as they don't accept any berths they may win? I am sure I am misunderstanding ...

As previously mentioned, roster rules vary by sanction. To add, each sanction only cares about what happens within their sanction.

ASA: She should be able to simply change teams if she hasn't played in an ASA qualifier in 2015. If she has, she can probably do it by getting the formal player release signed by the 16U team's coach and her commissioner.

PGF does not allow players to move down in age after playing up in a National Qualifier.
