0 earned runs

The 5th batter ground out would have been the third out of the inning therefore 0 ER

Thats what i told the score keeper, he told me because the error was committed before there were 2 outs you cant use it because the situation changed after that. He told me the girl with the triple was earned. I knew different but didnt have anything to back up what I was saying.

First runner reached base by error, she can't be scored as an earned run no matter what happens after that.
As BlueDevildad stated, batter 3 doesn't count either due to the fact there should have already been 3 outs recorded before the 6th batter comes to the plate.

Yep, that scorekeeper is wrong. I know the NCAA rulebook and maybe ASA or NFHS have a section that spells out how to determine whether a run is earned or not. Basically you just replay the inning as if there were no errors and determine which runs would have scored without the errors.

Unearned runs are any runs scored -

After the fielding side has had an opportunity to make three outs
By a runner who reached base on an error, when they should have been put out
By a runner who has advanced a base on an error or passed ball, when in the scorer`s judgement, they would not otherwise have scored before the third out
Tie-break runner scoring is always unearned, even without errors.

Zero...
First batter should have been out, 2nd batter flys out, now we should have two outs, triple, walk, runers first and third with what should be two outs, next batter grounds out, inning should have been over with no earned runs. Once three outs should have occured there are no longer any earned runs that occur.

Zero earned runs. Now, if #5 gets a hit instead of grounding out and the girl that hit a triple scores from that hit, then the run is earned.

Our school cannot hit the ball that many times in one inning so there for we cannot get confused like that in the book. Very sad but true

Grounder through a fielders legs has been ruled a hit at our school, depending on thr fielder or batter:confused:

Probably because it did not touch the glove, right? That always gives me a good laugh.

The same thing when a fly ball almost hits the fielder in the head and she ducks but did not touch her glove so it must be a hit.
