I find it unconscionable that a college wouldn't want a true investigation to occur surrounding all of the serious allegations made. I also find it unconscionable that the NCAA isn't reacting to this in some way other than to ignore it. It's just a bad situation all the way around.

Kind of reveals where their priorities lie, don't it? And it's not the student athletes.

Renee Hicks is no longer with Bellarmine. She was placed on admin leave all the way back in early April for a title 9 investigation. There were certainly many similarities in the actions of coaches Hicks and Worthington. However, the investigation at Bellarmine was done by individuals under the university president and not simply those in the athletic department. Bellarmine took their investigation seriously and coach Hicks is rightfully no longer coaching. All is still not well on the coaching side though. They are apparently searching for a head coach. The interim head coach was in her first year coaching post grad. Her experience with college coaches are Worthington at EKU and Hicks at Bellarmine. She has not learned from the best. Players initially felt she was promising but ended up falling in line with Hicks antics, but its what she learned from Worthington too. She may have already threatened players fall time for not being fit enough or for speaking negatively about former coach Hicks.SMH

I liked Mollie and had wished the best for her at Bellarmine. But she did have a reputation for being coach's pet and I would not be surprised if she had a hand in saving Jane's job. The good news is that she is young. Certainly she's read all the negative reviews on her former coach and has an opportunity to get on a better path. I think coaches like Mollie who treat players the way they would want to be treated (not the actual way they were treated) can be really good.

All I can say is to commit to a program (at any level) is just that a commitment, Ecspecially at the D-1 level,
Some players find out that its a HUGE commitement , Not alot of free time with friends or time to go home (acutally very little to NONE at D-1) , your team becomes you family ,
Ecspecilly "in season" which usually starts about Jan. right after the winter break. Then its into the grind! Yes it is a grid! But if the player puts in the work, the results can be awesome!
I feel alot of players get there and think they are going to be the "star player", and wont have to work that hard cause they where the best of their team both travel and HS.
Guess what thats wrong at any level, when you get recruited and come to the team everyone is good and or better! You have to work to get a spot everyday! Those that dont get put on bench.
Yes there are some coaches that have favorites, but if you can hit, hustle and put in the work a coach worth anything will put you on the field.
Also, like I told all my players when looking, pick a college that if you had a career ending injury and couldn't play anymore, would you stay and finish to get your degree there?!,
Yes the staff and the faclities help, but that is the ultimate goal a degree in the field you want to pursue!
It is hard work to play at any level of softball, or any sport, the player has to figure it this out !
It is worth the sacrifice?? To play the game they love?? or the game they like?? But the results can be all worth it !
I know I have see it and still do !
So some do have bad experiences, I get that, but its a lower percent than some are saying , its social media that is taking over that narative... IMO

If you say so. And if so it kind of proves the point that the investigation was a total sham. I mean, a person who played a full career under JW, literally graduated one year prior to this coming out and moved into the ranks of collegiate coaching and she wasn't even contacted by the university during the so-called investigation? What a joke.

Yes there are some coaches that have favorites, sometimes you dont have enough time and you need to use site like https://essays.edubirdie.com/mba-assignment-help which helps you a lot with your assignments but if you can hit, hustle and put in the work a coach worth anything will put you on the field.

Social media is attacking the real sports and tries to take over the true and only values..it's quite obvious that the coaches are trying to shape the athletes and make them the best versions of themselves

I don’t get it, why do AD’s continue to let this happen? I don’t buy for one second the AD had no idea this was going on.

She was with Renee Hicks at Bellarmine. Hicks got let go after an investigation that included title ix complaints. Hicks got a job as title ix compliance officer at Union College KY where she graduated. She is now their head softball coach.

Two years later here is an interesting update and additional insight into the softball situation at EKU:
