Spoke to dd last night. Turns out she's not surprised about the meals. She recounted a day where they lost a game and coach cancelled a lunch order from Noodles and Co. Instead they got turkey sandwiches with one thin slice of turkey between two slices of bread. No cheese, mayo, mustard, lettuce or anything. The week after the OVC tourney they were the only ppl on campus because classes were done. Most of the team had fallen ill (not COVID but some other bug) as they were preparing for regionals. Should have been a celebratory period and the players were either supposed to get three squares a day provided or money for meals.

Instead, Jane made them miserable, berated them for "faking" illness, practiced them to death, and never gave them a dime for meals nor did they get three a day. Apparently it was common practice for the players to door dash their own food. But it was so bad, that the night before their first game in Knoxville (NCAA regionals), all the players lined up outside her hotel room and staged an "intervention". And by the time they hit the field, it seemed as though they couldn't wait to lose two and be done with it.

She’s been there 30 years, unfortunately I don’t think she’s going anywhere or going to change her ways anytime soon.

she will if she gets called on the carpet as to why they cannot field a team and the magnum file of official complaints the AD has to deal with.

Also, i believe there's an automatic program review if more than a set number leave via portal in a given year.

She had Stacy May Johnson and Whitney Arion propping her up. That was who recruited my kid and we loved them. Rumor was that Stacy was next in line for HC. But she got offered a head coaching gig at Utah Valley State and when she got there she took Whitney with her.

That being said, by this morning Kaitlyn's post had over 3,500 likes and over 700 retweets and lots of supportive comments from her teammates who are so glad someone finally came forward. EKU athletics and Jane were both tagged and EKU athletics put out at statement that they are now aware of allegations of misconduct and are investigating. It will be very interesting to see if she survives this.

I’m not sure about a college review section it would be very interesting for sure. I believe the most valuable thing we could offer to Players and Parents would be a list of Current College Coaches with there contact information similar to the friendly section that has a list Coaches by age group. I do believe a review section on colleges would help players on making decisions from time to time. But not sure it would have a huge impact on a major decision. If you review the training facilities and other thing instead of just reviewing coaches only I do believe it would help players a lot more on having something useful to use.

I did not realize Worthington has been at EKU for 30 years and is just shy of 800 wins. She does have an impressive resume with several coach of the year honors and NCAA tournament appearances including several 30+ win seasons and a 45 win season in 2018 that one would think should help attract talent.

This year only mustering 13 wins with lots of player movement and I am sure complaints to the AD if the twitter post are accurate it will be interesting to see if the university gives her a pass with since she is the only softball coach the school has had.

The twitter posts are accurate you can bet your last paycheck on that. Kaitlyn's accounting lines up exactly with what my daughter was telling us in real time during the 2020/2021 school year, right down to the "nutrition" remarks when she called out two players while she was going around berating the players in front of each other one by one. And there are plenty of other things Kaitlyn never mentioned.

On paper, her resume does look impressive. However she never coached them to a World Series. And in her playing days, the game was slow pitch, nothing like what it is now.

I have a 2023 going to EKU. Coach Sims is the one that came out and recruited her.
My Athlete is aware of this but not letting it bother her as she wants to play at EKU regardless of what coach comes in.
Plus they are giving her a free ride. hoping it sticks till She officially signs in fall.
Center fielder Power hitter.

EKU is a good school. Nice softball facilities. But with those coaches, not worth it. But don't take my word, here's yet another article: https://www.richmondregister.com/sp...cle_6c374b70-fef9-11ec-9ba8-7fa94262c5db.html

And if Worthington and Sims are still there and she still goes, all I can say is I wish her luck. As I said before, there is plenty more that is unsaid, and I was asked to edit my previous posts for personal reasons. But I stand behind every word I said 100%.

Hey look when I was that age I went to boot camp. I expected head games and abuse to some degree. My drill instructor told us he hated us and I expected that from day one. But not college softball. No, everyone loves it there. All smiles, yeah it's great! Til coach smashes her in the mouth, and the trainer has to intervene to get you to a dentist. No concussion protocol not even a ride to the doctor! And Jane can't even be bothered to check up and see how you are doing. She does NOT CARE.

One thing about boot camp. They ALWAYS made sure we were fed and had plenty of water. This was an absolute. Seeing remarks on the Richmond Register Facebook feed some ppl saying these kids are snowflakes and depriving food ain’t that big a deal. They have no clue.

What’s interesting I’m now hearing past players are being interviewed by HR which means it’s beyond the athletic dept. I know many players have gone to the AD in the past and it went nowhere. Makes me wonder if other jobs are potentially on the chopping block besides softball. NCAA has also been notified. Have no idea if they are involved yet but that could take the choice out of the AD’s hands

oh and I also saw where members of the softball staff are now trying to intimidate the reporter from the Richmond Register. Classy!

I read this on are Facebook page.

This is SO true! My daughter's college coach was
able to kill her 8 year love of the game in as many
months. As she heads back for her sophomore
year of college, it will sadly not be as a softball
player. She has, however, decided to continue
being involved in the sport she loves from the
dugout, coaching young players just starting out,
instead of playing. I'm happy she's staying
involved, but sad that her career ended that way.

He said it's not going to work. Supposedly another article coming! I don't think it's going to stop until she hops on her broomstick and flies back to Utah LOL!
