You know, it could be worse (keep in mind, I started reading from the last page as usual). You all could be surrounded by idiots who drink Near Beer and just pretend to be drunk :lmao: They give drunks a bad name.
I guess at the hotel after games is ok. But if your out of town and responsible for someone elses child it is bad form. Its real bad form if your a lightwieght with poor judgement and low I.Q.
Alcohol should not be at the field and I can't beleive anyone would do that. You don't deserve to be a coach if you do that. As for the hotel, I guess it is OK, but the head coach is still the person in charge of the group he represents so I would think twice. All it takes is for one incident.
Alcohol at a game is inapproiate, back at the hotel ok...whatever let's have fun. How about an out of control coach (president) of team going way above that.... calling parents ripped in the middle of the night, from a World Series...WOW!!!!! Reason #1 for leaving a team!!!!
Isn't that the reason they started putting wheels on coolers......so you can take more than a 6 pack to the games???!!!!!!
I do not think the coaches should be drinking period while they are coaching. After the games is perfectly fine.
As far as the parents watching the games...we have done it on those blazing hot 90 degree days when you are going to be sitting out in the sun for 3 games. Kinda makes the day a little more enjoyable and sometime tolerable!!! We don't get smashed just toss a few back.
Saw a few HS players a few years ago in ******* that were obviously drunk. Also heard rumors that the reason the team always lost on Mondays was that the middle infield, and at times the pitcher, were still hung over from the weekend. Parents were either oblivious or didn't care. ASSt coach seemed to think it was funny.
