Well, right now all we're concerned about is rehab twice a week, which is an hour each way.

Four years ago, I leased my new vehicle with 15,000 per year built in. Then my daughter started playing for a team 1 hour away - two practices a week, plus another day for pitching. Now, here I am with 10 months left on my lease and I'm out of miles... Arghh $$$ !!!

Well since people have added lessons:

20-30 minutes for pitching lessons
3 hours for hitting lessons (approx. every six weeks during off season)

If we are adding lessons...

We drive 2 hours one way twice per month for pitching lessons. So, add that to 1.5 hours one way once or twice per week for team practice.... I drive A LOT!!

Ok-adding lessons:
30 minutes to LaGrange to have Amie Leffew keep my DD on track. Every other week.
But what I find so hard to believe is that it is Tuesday night, 11:56PM and there are 41 members on this forum...including me...what this confirms--in addition to this thread about
how we drive for our daughters, is that softball as a parent at this level is a healthy addiction that benefits not only the DD, but also the parents involved! Happy New Year!

In this "off-season" we drive about one hour each way to practices and spano league three times a week. I expect in the warmer months and summer season we will be making the same drive 4 or 5 times a week, plus tournaments on the weekends.
It is most definitely worth it!! Not only for the right team, but for the right coaching as well.
We love the team my dd is on and we love the coaches so the drive time isn't an issue...we've played with most of the players for a couple of years now and although nobody on the team lives in the same city as us, all of us parents get along very well and offer to drive if anyone gets in a pinch.

Last year 1/2 hour twice a week...this year 1 hour 40 minutes one way 1 to 2 times per week. Plus she plays travel volleyball that adds too time in the car:) Would not change a thing! No matter what happens when she finishes her time with softball and volleyball (she is a freshman) the time we spend together is well worth the time, money and miles:)

We drive 1 hr 30 minutes each way twice a week year around pretty much. This is U16 level. Well worth it to our family. With quality coaches, quality parents, and quality players with the goals to compete, get better, and get seen. I have seen too many situations that are opposite of what I described and its just a shame. I consider this drive expense an investment and so does our daughter. I have coached 6 different sports over the years with three of them at the travel level and I would not trade this group for anything. That is worth driving 3 hours twice a week for:) All depends on what you value, what is available, and how far you need to go to get the match.

Practice field is only about 1/2 hour away. Indoor facility is a small one but its down the street from my house.. literally. This my dd second year of 12u travel, we'll see about next year. I 'm not sure if the teams gonna stay together or not? That and how this season goes will make a big difference. But i'd drive as far as i need to get my daughter the best i can.
