leaving a team this late in the game??

I would like to throw out a scenario on leaving late in the season. If a coach has a set roster at the beginning of season say 12. The middle of the season they add a few players to try to get better. Not that I agree with this. How does a coach not grant a release to a player who has had their time cut greatly. We have had a few players leave late in the season for different reasons. One money issue, and other pitching time. We granted the releases and understand the girls situation. No hard feelings at all. The issue I have is when we are short now and post we need a player. We have girls who want to come to tryouts but their coach refuses to give release after they have added extra players. I dont understand how an adult can do this to a child that wants to play the game. I really wish there was a rule that you state how many on your roster you are going to carry for the season. Then when you as a coach add extra players, your original players have an option. Very unfair of coaches to change directions in midseason and leave players no options but to ride the pine more. JUst my 2 cents worth on the subject.

Yeah, I deleted my last post and now that I have gave it some thought, I wish I had not. The only thing I said in my post I deleted was I agreed with the blah, blah, blah that user edamame said.
My dd and I did leave a team but it really wasn't that late in the game as this thread speaks about.........and all I will say is that it was because of the lack of pitching time she was getting. The head coach was very respectable and understood our departure. It was a very hard decision to make as my DD made some very good friends on this team. There were a lot of tears. Since then she has gone 4-1 as a starter in a older age group and 2 of the 4 wins came against stronger teams then we played when we were at the younger group. We were not sure at first if it was the best decision to leave, but the success we have found made it all worth while. We really did enjoy the team we were with and we wish them nothing but success in the future.
