Ok here is a senario for you guys to give opinions on:)

A girl moves into a school district making her eligable to play without sitting out. That is the simple part, my question is since she has not played on that schools team and has yet to even make the team can a coach work with her? She did play in another district's program the previous year.

Wouild she be considered like a freshman since she has not participated in the program yet or would the her participation in her previous school's program make her unable recieve instruction?

Do you really want opinions or do you want the rule? I have an opinion (I will keep it to myself to avoid confusing the issue), but I don't know the rule.

Ultimately the actual rule would be good but I am not sure this situation is spelled out exactly. That being said I am guessing the OHSAA will say that since she has been in an OHSAA member program previously she is not allowed to be coached.

As far as a rule goes you will find no rule anywhere that covers this situation specifically, so it would have to be answered by OHSAA and more directly Roxanne Price.

What I do feel 99.7% sure about is that she is not a member of the team until she plays in her first scrimmage or game, so it would be perfectly fine for the coach at the new school to have contact. Does not matter that she had played for another school previously. I had a very similar situation that I contacted Roxanne about a month ago. Her response was "that a student that had not participated on a team in that school district would not be counted" and "no student who did not play last year would be counted." So take it for what its worth.
