I thought I would start a thread for people to post video of there daughters swing or a player from a coach.

If we all can respect the views of any other posters, then it could be a great place for information.

This is a swing to start with. I do not work with this player. This swing was shared to me by another hitting coach that does not teach RVP

I see her loading over top the back leg.
She might have to do this because of a no stride swing.

Does she sink or sit into her legs to much?

After her weight shift it looks like a good swing.

I have issues with the back foot. Sure looks like she killed that bug real good and her weight is over the back side, Agree Gerry.

After the critical comments on the swing of the girl on you-tube. I think my dd's would kill me if I posted their swing on here.

There are a lot girls that would kill for that swing, however she would not pop out as much if she did not let her back side sink.

post the swings maybe you might get some good info.

My first thought on it was a good swing but her shoulders opened up too soon. (just my opinion). On the other hand; I feel that there is not just "one" right way to bat or even pitch. Sure you need you basic mechanics to get to the end result. For as long as I have been around it seems like everyone has the "right way". Some are open minded, but the ones I frown against are the ones who think they are the softball guru's and their way is right and you are wrong. (all the time).

looks like when the right elbow goes into the side that the circular hand path breaks and causes the arms to push out ?

I need to record my dd's swing to prove to her she is not doing what she thinks she is doing.

My hands are not dropping!
I do get my hips through!
I am attacking with my front shoulder and elbow!

I think she pulled her head off the ball and it looks like she might of burped during the swing or it could of been a good exhale? I do agree with SBFamily on the back foot too, it looks like her shoe laces are not tied evenly. LOL (obviously bored at work right now)

I dont see anything but a young lady teeing off on a pitch from a pitching machine that is just above the waist and it looks like she hit the ball very well based on the flight path in the video. A beautiful swing from my angle!

Draw a line at the back foot , if you use RVP,( hint from Gerry is this coach doesn't.). I went back and edited my first post. I agree with Gerry on the weight shift. If you asked her to pick up her front foot would she fall backward or forward?

cshilt. I'm checking out the V1 Home 2.0 Premium. Our new camera wouldn't work with RVP. Thanks for posting that on the other site.

Muaaahahahahahaaaa..........I'm going for it!

Feet slightly wider than hips.....check!
Hands relaxed and above strike zone......check!

Britt seems to be very upright in her stance but doesn't sink into attack mode until the pitcher is in the windup so.......check!

Say what??? Britt actually lifts her rear heel off the ground to start her negative move! I'm sure this also aids in timing. Then she gives us a mini-Yaz forward step between 4 and 5 inches to initiate her positive linear move/weight shift to toe touch, her hands staying back to load. As soon as the front heel starts the move towards plant her hips start rotating and she initiates her forward swing......check!

At the start of the actual swing Britt's rear elbow slots very quickly, literally flirting with bat drag. My guess is this also aligns her knock knock knuckles because the front arm/hand remains positive and her grip is beautifully relaxed......check!

Here's what I really like about Britt's swing:

Some people might think that her hands/swing lags a bit compared to her forward step. Britt steps with the pitcher. Britt starts her step before the pitch is in flight. Folks, this is key. Keeping her hands back and front shoulder closed gets her coiled, and as soon as the pitcher releases the ball Britt is ready to uncoil and pounce all over the ball. At first I thought she slammed her front elbow into her body at this point but after closer analysis it is an optical illusion because she does clear the rib cage and comes to full extension. Other key points I love about this swing are that she hits the ball well out in front and she gets her weight (leans) into the plate/hitting zone during the positive move and rotation. Britt is leaving nothing behind.....she is grippin' it and rippin' it!............check!

At contact, the hands are above and behind the barrel of the bat.....check!
Rear femur pointing straight down indicating complete hip rotation and up on rear toe......check!
Front leg straight but not locked.....check!
Swing finishes high above shoulder.......check!

BD, Britt has a great swing. If I had to nit-pick I would like to see another 2 inches on her forward step, thus giving her a stronger load, but hey.....if it ain't broke.........:)

Very nice looking swing. Great mechanics.
I wish my daughter swung a bat as well as Brit does. Will post Casey's swing for your comment in the near future.

She lifts the rear heal up to start the swing? Thats different.

One question I have in the swing.
Would she hit it harder if she stretched her chain a little bit more, meaning getting the lead arm going back as she goes to toe touch, where the lead elbow ends up around the belly button or a bit farther back as she starts to go to heal plant.

ps. Where do you get slow motion video to post?
