Has your team played in the Dome in Fort Wayne, Indiana? If yes, what did you think? Where did your team stay? Any recommendations?

dd's team will be heading to the Dome in March for a qualifier and I would love the to hear your thoughts ;)

been talked about every year in the winter --search ft wayne dome and you should get chapters of material. very nice fields, cramped warmup space, balls fly out of the park easily , if its cold that week bring a snow suit to watch the games , they aint investing money in heat, (that mainly pertains to early am games) BE PREPARED TO PLAY ROUND THE CLOCK , so I'll boldly predict at least one night where you get 4 hours sleep at the most. Ind has a lot of talent at the 15-18u level. not sure anymore about the younger levels . MD

Great place to play indoors. Stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott. Usually cuts teams great deal and only 5 minutes from the dome for those sleepless nights Dan was talking about. Warm up area is a exactly as Dan stated, but you can work around it. AND bring lots of warm clothing.

It was a VERY cool facility. With that said, we played until 1:30 AM (or maybe later, I can't remember) and then had to start playing again at 8 AM. Not good for a group of 12u's.

I have had a hard time finding it on the web as well. My daughter played there last year. Great fields and great facility. It is cool so dress in layers. I can't remember what hotel we stayed in but there are different priced hotels very close. Easy to get to food places, etc...

Very nice fields. There are two. There is a balcony for one of the fields for parents to watch the game. Yes, cramped warm up spots. When I went (last march) 10's and 12's didn't play past 11pm, but could have a game as early as 6am. The lighting is kind of weird. When my wife took pictures, they came out blurry because of the lighting. Maybe we have a cheap camera, IDK. Residence Inn has a deal where you get like 5 large pizzas and like 5 two liters of pop for free for the teams.

We went a couple years ago - in January (I think). It was when we were having a record cold spell - definately take warm clothes. Need to play there at least once. We didn't have any late games, but some very early ones. We were an 11U team and compitition at the 12U level was tough. Stayed at Staybridge Suites. About 5 minutes from fields, Rates under $100/ night, but each room has a full kitchen. Stove, fridge, dishwasher, dishes... saves some money on eating out every day and the breakfast in the lobby was about the best I have seen for a hotel. And what better to bond a new team than a tournament in Winter where evey stays at the same hotel??

If you go to Play NSA website they list all the Fort Wayne and Indianapolis indoor tournaments in their tournament search.

"SPORTS ZONE IN INDIANAPOLIS"

Sportzone in Indy was a fun place to play. Played there with last years team in March, and it was a good time. Comfortable temps as well inside.

It is 9 versus 9 and I think it was Turf....Don't think I'd be real good as a witness in court...
