recently, my DD was at an indoor faciliy taking BP, and the chair I sat in was like a camper's dream. I didn't fall in like the chairs i use...firm back, a foldable side tray...i even gave it the true test, I dropped my pencil and tried to pick it up...what happened? you could actually bend over in the chair without your belly or back hurting (although I've lost some weight that might have to do with it)...the other flimsy chairs, you drop something, forget it, you have to get out and retrieve it

cooler with wheels...and if you decide to cook, get a portable grill...I love mine

Statman, I believe I have this chair, it us ultra comfortable, just a little tough to carry, but well worth the effort.
Last year I started carrying extra socks for DD and myself. Nothing worse than wet feet all day.

I use a suitcase cart. It folds up great. I put card board on the bottom and use bunge cords to hold items on. I but my chair, a bucket of balls, coaches bag, and med kit and I am ready to go!

Love taking baby wipes as a quick wash rag, crystal lite to add to my frozen water incase I need a change, and lots of :yahoo:FROZEN GRAPES! :yahoo:They are like popcicles, but nasty when they have thawed.

For all the rain last year. Extra clothes and shoes. Nothing is worse than walking around in wet clothes and shoes the rest of the day. I do like Ziggywoman's post. Makes the afternoon at the hotel talking softball more fun.

Thanks to all who posted above for all the great advice!!! Even though I've been at this for many, many moons; I still forget at least one or two items every weekend...lol. I might have to reread this thread a couple of times during the upcoming season and I'm being serious.

My wife at lunch reminded of one thing us men don't seem to care about. Bathroom supplies. The porta pots can be a little rank at times. Better have your own stuff. Last year at NSA's at Tealtown, at 0800 no paper of any kind. That really makes the women upset!

I always have a propane grill in my trailer for my teams to use. I also have 2 EZ up tents, about 10 folding chairs a table 3 coolers full of water Gatorade and soda. one of the coolers holds the hot dogs and hamburgers. Sunblock is a true must.

If you need empty water bottles just look in your DD's bat bag.

TP is a must. you never know if you will need it and if you do you will be thankful you brought it.

try to work with other parents on your team to coordinate who will bring what to the tournament. (food and drinks) this will save everyone $$$$$$.

Now just sit back and watch you daughter have the time of her life.

Peanut butter and Jelly...and a bag of hamburg buns.

Great to be able to QUICKLY throw some sandwiches together between games when the grils are racing between fields or are playing late into Sunday!

Also, hand sanitizer...for the "pre" PBJ snack!!

You can get on ebay for around ten bucks liquor flasks disguised as binoculars. (used to see a lot of these at OSU football games). After all there are a number of fields where they do serve on on site but as long as it's in moderation of course!

I heard from a guy I know, not me just some guy but sun glasses are a must, so you don't get caught checking out the hot softball moms. Like I said that is just what some guy told me, Not something I would do ;)

I'd love to make a smart aleck comment here, but there's no way I can compete with this stuff. Thanks for all the tips so far, and keep them coming. Did anybody have a store or source for those great chairs Statman mentioned? Although, I'm definitely getting a chaise for the mother of my lovely DD.

Also, don't forget to stock up on the packs of hand warmers this winter. Makes those cold spring games a lot more comfortable and they are usually sold out by spring.

Might want to reconsider the peanut butter and settle for just jelly.

Plenty of water/gatoraid and fruit (especially bananas). Dish towels to dip into a cooler of ice. Those catchers get overheated really quick. At 12U, you will have to force feed them the fruit.

All of the younger teams parents go through what I am about to describe. Remember, this is not the World Series. Winning is nice, but don't get upset if it isn't happening. Support each and every girl on the team. Some of the ugliest scenes I have ever witnessed at the ball park have involved parents from the younger age groups. Yes, at one time, I was a parent in the younger age groups. It is easy to get carried away. Just relax and enjoy watching your DD play some competitive ball.
