WA RNING! WARNING! WARNING! ---I cant keep my mouth s hut about this anymore! Serious poaching attempts are being made at tournaments by (anyone guess who!?) a wanna be rookie "person" ( I cant bring myself to calling him a coach ) promising cf6's for each girl that is blinded by the hype and will take the plunge to join his group in 2014 ( I cant even call it a team either) boombah bags, boombah uni's, promises of top notch "coaching" and a material world of everything softball... it's worse than a sneaky snake car salesmen (sorry if your an honest sales person) approaching parents from my (or ANY) team during a 1/4 final game this weekend, during the game while I am coaching 3rd base. I can see him trying to sell it to one of my parents. Gave them a business card, big envelope full of BS promises try out dates for 2014 and trying to steal players for 2014 season. WHO DOES THIS?? It's May for gods sake!!! Funny thing is I am not even 1 second worried about any of my players making the mistake and being taking in by such nonsense... and the parent AND player both said "what a jerk! we would NEVER play for this guy or org. " BUT I feel I must ALERT ALL the new parents, players and coaches that are still wet behind the ears, or new to travel ball that might get lost in the hype and don't know the REAL way things will be handled. See, when you do nothing but go thru 20-30 players in 4 months, change organizations 3-4 times in 1 year and want to start another one for 2014 in May 2013.... and you're a person constantly yelling and screaming and even cursing at 11 and 12 year olds, THAT is not coaching, that is not what I would want for any young lady. Any REAL coach takes the player that YOU as a coach committed to and the players that committed to you...and COACHES THEM! Learn how to develop and teach the game! Do not try to go after other players on other teams that are already playing at a high level because you can't get yours there! It's not only a matter of respect for other coaches, other players, but also an unwritten rule in travel ball. You are continuing to dig a HUGE hole for yourself week after week! You do not know how small the travel ball world is! EVERYONE knows you for the WRONG REASONS BRO ~ AGAIN I AM PUTTING OUT THIS WARNING TO ALL THE NEW PLAYERS, PARENTS, and COACHES!!! Do Not get lost in the hype.......... do your homework......... ask questions, ask other parents.... ask other teams and coaches BEFORE you give anyone a dime or even take the time to talk about 2014 when it is only May 6th. Heck, just sit and watch a few practices or even a game and your eyes will be opened! The nerve of some people... And I must let everyone in the travel ball world know that this same person this weekend on Saturday came over to our warm up area where our pitchers were warming up and yelled - "So and so team isn't that good! You can pitch #7" - - 5 minutes before the game my pitcher (#7) is crying her eyes out from this comment that she heard from this big mouth idiot. Good job making a 12 yr. old cry. I wasn't aware of this happening until after the fact or I would have stopped it. Of course my assistant coach had to have a talk with this a-hole and told him to stay away from our team and players. But this hard headed individual doesn't listen or care about anything but himself and the very next day on Sunday during our 1/4 final game there is the snake again approaching one of my parents offering a free spot on his so called team for 2014 and free cf6's boombah everything giving out his business card ( lol ) and a packet full of BS that was left in the garbage can by the parent... UNREAL- WHO DOES THIS????? Talking about a desperate, rude, back stabbing, low life! OK now I vented and fell a lil better... but the main reason I posted is because I am not going to sit with my mouth shut anymore and I feel it is more important for me to let everyone on OFC to know what happened this weekend and pass the word around! ALERT the newer players, parents and coaches especially in the 10u and 12u. Get the name out there so when the 2014 tryouts arrive, nobody shows up. You all should know by now who this person is.... Can you guess who did this?!?!

Hate to say it, but this posting is very true and necessary. Anyone currently affiliated with this guy, any tournaments he may host, or future endeavors, need to seriously rethink having any contact with him at all. I currently have 2 players that came from this organization. Once the "coach" learned of this he texted me, just slamming these kids and picking out all of their faults. Ripping on the horrible parents, you name it. We made it a point to welcome these families, new to travel ball, and their wonderful kids to come play and hopefully learn a little. After slamming these kids I told him he has no clue how to teach and develop. His response was "Teach and develop in rec ball Charlie Brown", clever and moronic statement talking about 11yr old players. I have had many, many, more interactions with this village idiot going back to rec ball, sad to say. The thing that set me over the edge was his harassment of one of the players by not releasing her to play for another team. Funny thing was, the village idiot, did not update an NSA roster and put the wrong last name on the ASA and he had no hold on the player anyway. Complete Jackass. He also threatened to get physical.....he is a typical "Billy Badass" and needs to go away. Thanks for venting Dan, everyone in this sport needs to weed these guys out!

Dan - deap breath.... It will be ok. Seriously, this happens all the time. Wait until the kids are at the showcase age!!! Offering players roster spots is nothing new. Lying to the parrents about gear and stuff is a sign of a desperation. You went through all that explanation and never really ratted the coach out. If you truly want to warn the newbies you should have said exactly who it is. People tend to beat around the bush far to often when things like this come up. If folks are this fired up about what happens in the softball world they should be honest and specific.

Amen.

As the saying goes; "It isn't slander if it's true".

(Just keep the adjectives out , and state the facts.)
