Jeff, I heard about the incident and the appalling behavior displayed. I hope for quick and complete healing for Avrey and suitable consequences for the other player involved.

Best wishes.

no offense but you are going to get conflicting info is my guess . I sure dont have any dog in this but when you ask people about stuff like that you invariably get differing reports. hopefully you get what you are looking for.

Oh wow so sorry this happened. I'm sure this is very difficult time. I am also sure with time and healing she will be back in action with more passion and desire than ever! Best wishes.

I witnessed the "accident" that happened and I can tell you it was intentional. Did the player actually mean to break her leg, I don't know but the contact was intentional. After it happened I watched her lean over her and flex, acting as if she was a football player who just made her best tackle of the year. She then walked off without showing any concern or seeing if Avrey was OK. I know this individual tried out a couple of years ago for Jeff's team and she didn't make it and Jeff has been slammed constantly on OFC by her dad. I personally watched her and her dad clap a month or so ago in Canton when Avrey made an error on 2nd base. I have sit back and watched this father post **** about Jeff and his Team long enough. I have coached my daughter in fastpitch for 7 years and played and coached for 20 years and I have never seen anything as blatant as what happened this past weekend. This father cares more about what Thunder Elite is doing than whatever Team his daughter is playing for that week. She is on a different team every time I turn around. You would think that if it was an "accident" he would apologize or at the very least ask how Avrey is doing. If he says he did, I know for a fact he hasn't. I think that Jeff and Andrea handled the situation with class and the way a great leader should. He is setting the correct example for his players and teaching the things you should be teaching your players, SPORTSMANSHIP. I would like thank those players, parents and coaches that rallied around Avrey from all the teams there this past weekend. I know this meant a lot to Avrey and Thunder Elite.

I stayed to watch the last games and also witnessed the incident. I cant say the girl tried to break her leg, I can say she went in looking for unnecessary and intentional contact . Immediately , the umpire should have ejected her, he had no spine. She did appear to flex or act arrogant about what had happened. I couldnt believe what I saw. There is no place for this type of behavior by the girl, her father or the umpire. The Emeralds did remove her from the game, and that was gratifying to see. I saw no remorse from her or any of her family. Give the Emeralds coaches credit, I saw them talking to the Thunder coaches and it appeared they were very sorry and apologetic. I dont care if you dont like a coach , player or whoever, hurting someone like this is unacceptable. These girls are mostly 12 years olds, with their whole careers ahead of them. I just cant believe a 12 year old girl would do that without some type of outside influence, dad????????From some of the previous posts, it seems he is a bitter man. I dont know. I love competetion , as much if not more than everyone, but there is a line and they crossed it. I hope we all learn from this, and something like this never happens again. Ive seen Avrey play a few times, she is a great player and fierce competitor. She will be back and ready to go stronger than ever. That team will surely miss her but the most important thing now is to heal the right way . Hopefully she will not rush back too soon, no game no tourney, this year is worth possibly doing more damage to her leg. Good Luck and I hope shes doing ok.

This is getting ridiculous...no explanation of the incident or accident. Kinda like the threads about that guy who bounces the checks. If your gonna post here, please describe what you saw, please...

I was told there was a play at second base and the emerald girl slid into thunders player. Didn't see it but that's what I was told. Don't know if it was malicious or not. Sounds like maybe , but like I said I didn't see it.

who cares about the incident at this point! Is this little girl ok? Lets put things in perspective! SOMEONE taught that animal to be this way and hurt our little girls. I have been coaching for 18 years and let her deal with me. I will show her what it means to respect this sport. P.S. I am a kid lover and would die for them. Is there something wrong with this scenario? Do NOT make excuses! Right is right and Wrong is wrong. SOMEONE PUT THIS IN HER HEAD!!!! Any info you can give me re: her behavior/parents I would love to help them if I can. NOW GET ON WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL GAME!!!
