My vote would be Hebron Ky.While the concession area is real nice what with it being covered and all.Gate fees and no coolers are strong arming you to there concessions. While it wouldnt be so bad if they put some money back into there fields.A team could loss a infielder in a valley on a few of there infields.
Not to mention starting on a friday morning 14u parents must work to pay for there dds to play select. Not to mention pay gate fees and for food while there.

Don't understand the whole no cooler thing either .... the other problem is that while the four diamonds by the concession stand are nice - it is a hike to the other fields on the other side of the parking lot and back aways. Tough to do if you are trying to watch two age groups and have games you want to watch at both spots.

Im not a big fan of slow pitch diamonds being used as fastpitch diamonds.

Not a big fan of the new Ohio Sports Park in North Ridgeville. Fields are great, as they are brand new this year, but only one has a 200' fence, with the rest having 300' or 365' fences. Saw a lot of "home runs" at the Uncle Stan's tourney last weekend. If a ball is hit in the gaps, the hitter is at least getting a triple. I also don't like the fact that the park is still under construction, with no sewer, water, or permanent concessions area. Not a big fan of port-a-potties on a hot day! Add the fact that, with limited items at the concession trailers, you can't bring in coolers with anything more than bottled water and ice in them, and a $5 per person charge at the gate, and you get the picture. Hopefully they'll have everything completed next year.

Sting-Me Tourney has Great People but Lord those Fields are HORRIBLE. About 5% Rock content in the Dirt. The Maple Leaf Tourney was over all the worst NO Covered Dugouts where we were and we had to Raise cain to Get them to Drag the Field after 2 games had been played on them. By the way ...Chain Reaction Crew was OUTSTANDING.. them guys Know how to Turn Field over Quick ... and a Nice Complex
( Fathers Day Tourney).

My second nominee would be the Logan Park fields used for the Summer Slam in Akron. Worst outfields I've seen in a while. One field had a 10' drop from left to right. Also a good size hole that my daughter found while running down a fly ball. Put her on crutches with a sprained foot for a week! Another field had a dip so low in center that you couldn't see the center fielders legs below the knees! Dangerous park for the outfielders.

Hebron Ky (Rivershore) is a for profit park. You have to expect gate fees and no coolers. It is a nice layout for the main 4 fields and they are nice fields. The other 2 are a hike but it's good exercise. They do need a lot of work though.

You want to see cr@p go to Pastime in Harrison. What a dump and they have THE worst ump's. If Rumpke Waste needs a new landfill that would be the place to park one.

Agree 100% and by the way porto-potties are no bargain in the dead of winter either!:(

I would have to say so far this year was Uncle Stans tourney. I do not mind the construction, it is going to be beautiful when done. I feel $5 is a bit much, especially when they were charging on Friday for one game. Fields were not getting done in between games. The batters box was about 4 inches lower than the plate (due to not maintaining during games), and fields were not getting lined.

Last weekend in Lancaster was the worst. 16U playing on a Elemetary field/pasture. Bathrooms were nasty. Saturday before our third game of the day the fields were finally taken care of from Fridays games. Outfields were not mowed or the cattle was not let out in time to graze.

I agree Coop. Remember I told you DD hit a shot over the left fielders head on Friday the week before. If grass is cut this is a home run(no fence). But ended up being just a double because the pasture. Of course, it should have been a triple anyway but due to the sled she was pulling......:lmao:

I couldn't agree more with Hitter23. I hate when slowpitch fields are used for fastpitch.

I throw in the pheonix tournament. It was in Lancaster, but run but run by a travel team, not the city or local rec program. The program down there takes more pride in things than that. They treat all ages even. That weekend they put the 12 on a couple t-ball fields, and you had to go down the road to get a drink. Where the older girls played they had hot dogs, drinks, trailers, bracket sheets. It looked good. We had to play in a field with 6 foot holes in the backstops, no field maint. no chalk into the outfield less than 5 feet from the bases to the grass that hadnt been mowed. Over filled portolets, and trash cans. I am glad my dd filled in and we didnt pay the 400-450, that was bad.

Pastime park takes the cake for being the worst place to play ball.Way high prices at the concession 2.75 for a gatorade is outragous (probley criminal in some states:lmao:)
Fields and dug outs were ****.Parking lot needed alot of work.
A team could lose a player in the outfeild on 1 field right field you could only see to the fielders knees. And the hump between the grass and the dirt could have been used as a moto cross jump.
This place has the potential to be one of the best parks in ohio with a little money put back into it.But at this rate of decay it will be closed within 3 years.

My vote would be the Hebron Ky Rivershore. As many tournaments as they do you would think they could put money back into those parks. Last tournament I was at there the scoreboards were missing light bulbs, and to have no net to protect from foul balls is absurd!

Evidently some people did not listen to the tournament director at the Phoenix Summer Slam. I personally heard him tell everyone at the park that you speak of why the fields were in such a mess. #1 The Lancaster Parks did not do their job(they take care of all the fieldsin the city, even the one you speak of. Also the parks department got locked out of the facility were they keep the equipment, by that local organization(heard they changed the locks on Friday, so the parks could not line their diamonds. Phoenix did bring in their own equipment to do the diamonds onSaturday night. Also when I asked about the Porta-Lets the director said that when he called the Porta-let folks, that they informed him that the local organization there called and told them not to clean the Porta- lets. Sounds to me that you need to call the Parks of Lancaster and question them why they did not do their job. I was also told that the Phonix organization went to the Mayor and Chamber of Commerce about this. Maybe you guys need to get of the different organizations around here and find out the real truths.

We were holding off this announcement awhile, but next year the Toledo Tune-up, USSSA States, and the Shootout will have all 200' fences at 16u/18u/18 over! This will be an additional $10,000.00 commitment by SGS, but one we think enhances the sport up here in NWO. Fastpitch should be played on fastpitch fields!!!!
