This team may be small in size but they know the game of softball!! They proved it by playing 13 games in 2 1/2 days, 7 of those games played back to back on Sunday at the CCAC Tournament in Warsaw, IN this past weekend. We unfortunately fell into the losers bracket late on Saturday but the girls stayed strong and played their way up through the losers bracket to the championship game on Sunday night. They beat the very strong Harris Heat from the winners bracket in the 1st championship game but unfortunately lost to them in the 2nd Championship game. Even though they ended up in second place, I could not be prouder of this "little" team. These girls are true ball players. They get the game and the different strategies it takes to win and be successful. The coaches are non parent coaches so they are coaching because they love the game and love to coach. The goal of the team this year was to play the best competition they could and since they did that all summer long they are finally peaking at the right time. They are off to the NSA "A" World Series in Spartanburg, SC this next week. For being a 1st year 12U team with all 2000 birthdates, this team has accomplished many great achievements this summer. Can't wait to see what they can do at the World Series! They are on the right track and will become a team that everyone will eventually know of for sure! Good luck 12U OFC Heat Orange....you guys are something special...take it all the way!!
