Looks like the best pitchers in state reside only in Columbus or Akron/ Canton area. There must be top ten pitchers in southwest or northwest part of state.

We like to keep our SW Studs under wraps, so we can jump on y'all in the north come summer.

Just Kidding, Just a couple of Top Cinci hurlers are: (I know there are 4-5 more that should get mention too.)
- Montana, Doom93
- Kelly Benhazen , Valley Extreme / Glen Este
- Several outstanding current 8th graders, but we'll hold back on names til they start making their own noise come spring.

I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one who noticed that the only good HS pitchers in the state of Ohio live in or around the Columbus area. I would think that the top 10 HS pitchers in the state would be very hard to determine but I guess we will have a better idea in May. That is if you put any credibility into HS softball, oh yea, that's an entirely different thread, sorry.

If you look at the state championships in high school and in the ASA over the past several years, look no further than Central Ohio or Northeast Ohio.
Wolfpack,Nightmare,Slammers,Sapphires,LasersPurple,LasersGreen,ValleyExtreme,ElyriaSundogs,BuckeyeHeatAbraham(Byers although I think a nw pitcher),OhioIce,OhioClassicsBlack,OhioAttack,I don't even know the younger ones
now I will give NWOhio ithink clay or oak harbor pitcher for Lasers.
Not to say other pitchers are not good, these pitchers are just better.

The reason for so many Central Ohio kids on the list is because they have more people who post on the best of .... lists lol. People obviously list either who they have seen or read about on OFC. I have read alot of top 10's and the fact that I seen no Bryson, Michalak, Kurfis or Haley on anybodies top 10 told me all I needed to know. There are alot of very talented pitchers on peoples list, but Bryson Might be the best pitcher in Ohio right now, and Kurfis, Michalak and Haley are very close behind her.

Again for those that are actually interested in top flight talent here are the top pitchers from NWO.

Bryson- heat Toledo, Perrysburg
Kurfis- Laser orange, Anthony Wayne
Michalak-Heat Toledo, Holland Springfield
Haley- Lady Irish Baker, Anthony Wayne

Graduated Seniors from NWO who went on to pitch in college these are all class of 2008

Gates- Southview- Stingray's University of Toledo-Northern Lakes League
Holmes- Oregon Clay-Lasers Cleveland state-Toledo City League
Gramling- Toledo Notre Dame-Express- Bellermine-Toledo City League
Duaterman- Elmwood- Buckeye Heat- Findlay-Suburban Lakes League
Schultz-Toledo St. Ursula-Wizards-Findlay-Toledo City league

I bet most peoples top 10 last year didnt list one of these kids, Dauterman was completely dominating last year until an injury derailed her.

My point is the list is strictly subjective lol, its hard to make an accurate top 10 since nobody gets a chance to really watch all the pitchers in action.

Ok Uber, ramble the back up on Bryson over Myers, McNeil, Sito.
I saw Bryson pitch last year and she is good but not in the above mentioned class.

You are right about subjective, but the pitchers that have been mentioned along with Meredith, Gabriel, Roudabush, Johnson, Gillian,Birkhiemer have been dominating teams in Ohio for years.

Well flexone I have seen Myers pitch a few times a year the past few years and I would take Bryson.

So now what? I know we can wait for others to weigh in with their Biased opinions lol

You have made a ton posts regarding Meyers in the past year both about high school and travel with stats about scoreless streaks etc. Are you sure your not a little biased? Lol

Btw I think Meyers is an outstanding pitcher one of the best I have seen the past few years, I don't want that to get lost in what I am saying, to say Bryson is not her class though is incorrect

Maybe Toledo gets left out because it's too close to Michigan...

heck yes I'm bias and I also love the buckeyes not only because I'm from Ohio:)

Myers only losses in Ohio over the the last year has been to North Canton Hoover
and Darby, which was against her own travel teammate. She didn't lose in Ohio on the travel circuit against top competition, so I rate her the best. But right behind her is the Hoban pitcher McNeil, and the Elyria pitcher Sito - both have stats and wins and championships on their resumes, not just subjective bias real stats!

Wouldn't it be great to hear from the Female hitters that face these pitchers? Dad's sitting in stands watching can't be as good as a top notch hitter going .175 consistently against a dominant pitcher. Are there are players out there willing to speek up?

I don't think the most of the parents would even try to hit off of any of the young ladies mentioned!

I have seen all of the young ladies pitch. I would give the nod to Meyers as she was also the player of the year in High School last year. Myers just like the other girl's had great travel seasons. Myers has an unfair advantage she is on a very good travel team with a great defense. I think alot of girl's would dominate if they pitched on that team.

FROM OLDTIMER: "I don't think the most of the parents would even try to hit off of any of the young ladies mentioned!"

Oldtimer,

Exactly, and that is why a parents opinion in this discussion is extremely low value. I would love to hear the 3,4,5 hitters from some top teams weigh in on who they have the hardest time hitting. That would tell us more then Dad or Fan sitting in the stands. I've seen lots of great looking pitchers, but when they get to college where the playing field evens out, they aren't that great all of a sudden.

This is from my dd..... I asked her what pitcher she thought was the best she had faced , Faith Tressmer ( i hope i spelled that correctly) From Lebanon. she faced her in the cage at QDSN and in school ball, realy fun battle to watch
