Should these be required in OFC Tournament Listings or Descriptions?

I must be missing something. Is there suppose to be a poll or is there a list? I am not seeing anything other than the question.

Ah, Bill, it just took this old lady a while to figure out how to post the poll. You should see it now. But I can't figure out how to correct the grammar mistake in the option regarding coolers with liquid. Bear will show up eventually to fix that.

Carol---these are all absolutely reasonable and I guess I'm kinda surprised that this info wasn't already included in tourney advertising info.

Not trying to cause trouble, but now that other issues have come to light, you might also ask if:
two umps each game
the field is run by the city
the grounds crew is union
how many guaranteed grounds crew if it rains
how much diamond dry will be on hand
how many teams at each age allowed

just sayin'...

Oh, and let's all support Casey the Wonder Dog!

I hope next year we do not play single tournment that doesn't allow coolers for the girls in. Also the grounds crew at Goshen is by far the best I haave ever seen.

I guess I'm old fashioned but gate/parking fees burn me up, especially when they charge per person to park. The car must take up more room if its full.

Thanks Sue. Casey had to miss the first two tournaments because of park regulations (and I get the reason for those) and she was moping around this Friday while Ted and I scurried to get out of the house (a routine she undoubtedly now associates with being left behind), until we opened the car door and asked her in. :) She's now wearing about a quarter inch of mud from the dugout floor, and all of us in the Mason-Stebbins household couldn't be happier. I think there are several younger siblings who were at the Elyria tournament and enjoyed the opportunity to get to know her.

Hmmm...I wonder if folks realize they can vote for any one or all of your listed choices? What other reason could there be for not seeing universal support for Casey (and food & drink coolers), lol. ;)

Bill Vasko:

I thought about the refund issue, but it gets so wordy. I know that any listing or description of tournaments has to include brevity. I tentatively decided that the rain cancellation policy is better included in the documents that the TD sends to the teams before the teams send back a check. Or the team representative can send an email to the TD regarding that. Make sense?

Yes, you can vote for any or ALL of the options. And don't worry, we realize that many people think dogs shouldn't be at the ball park. But I do think that some families would want to know about the park's policy.

Good poll. Hope some of the TD's read it. We all realize that the weather cannot be controlled, the easiest way to upset teams is poor communication. I think that refund policies should also be included in the tournament listing.

I think I met Casey the Wonder Dog at Ashland last year?

Yea, I voted for all except Casey. Sorry Buddy. The wife and girls would have voted for you but I'm scrooge.

Before all you continue bashing unions, which I have been apart of, you need to realize this country would be run like a dictatorship and you would all be working from daylight till dark for wahtever your employers wanted to pay you, which could be pennies if it weren't for someone standing up and fighting for what was right back in the day. So think twice before you keep running off at the mouth, because there are alot of lazy Non-Union workers out there as well!!

I agree 1000% Shayne. Most would be working for pennies on the dollar if it were not for the unions. (Just an example) The "Only" reason Honda pays $24.00 per hour is because the unions pay $26.00. If the unions paid $10.00 per hour Honda would only pay $8.00. the Union wage sets the pay scale for everyone else.

Don't believe the vomit that spews from talk radio during the day. Those people are being paid hundreds of millions of dollars a year because of the people who listen and really believe the propoganda.

I wondered how long it would take for the union talk to get to this level. The only thing this forum is concerned about unions is them not working on our dd's fields...period!!!!! We are all well aware of the contributions of unions to all of us. The only thing we don't like: is sitting there not being able to work on a field ourselves because of the union rules at some parks. A definite for the poll: how many or few people there will be to work on the fields in case of good old mother nature.

If the "union bashing" charge is from what I put up earlier in this thread, then I want to be on the record:

I don't dislike unions, on the contrary, I'm a nurse and helped vote the union into our hospital.

My father was a union official and I'm all for them.

No, what I was getting at was that when the fields are in disrepair and folks who are willing and able are not "allowed" to work on them to make a bad situation better for their dd's, due to it being a union gig---that just doesn't seem right.

Never meant to offend.

Sue
