Late to the party but insomnia has kicked in tonight. If our TD's use the USSSA system correctly, the scores are posted online as soon as they hit the save button.

USSSA is making some upgrades to our system to let our TD's and teams use the site and make it more user-friendly. Also if you download the app, you can see the scores on your phone or tablet as well.

Also our tech folks would like to know of any dead links or items of concern. If you find one, please e-mail me at mike.craig2@usssa.com.

Agreed Mike, and that system is great, but Ricky was referring to posting scores on the forum which is the least TD's can do to give back a little user content since everybody gets free promotion from this site. So in my opinion the USSSA system is great for checking team points, head to head matchups, and complete final standings but the scores should also be posted directly on the OFC. If that is all he is asking that certainly isn't too much.

This poll is closed but you can still reply to thread. It look like the (TD) should post Final results on forum, won by a small margin. LoL

For those who didn't take the survey and can't see results, the vote was 80-5, or 94.1% in favor of TD's posting results in the Forum.

Not sure who voting? When I setup a poll I always choose poll to be private. Just like a election I believe everyone has the right to vote in privacy. Even I don't have the data on who does and who doesn't vote on polls. You just have to be member to vote.

lol jd ... I'm sure some people will assume what you say, but I know at least 2 TD's who definitely voted they should be posted ... my guess is though that at least a few of the who voted against were TD's ...

80 to 5; Obviously the masses want the scores posted.

DO you really want the scores from over 400 games listed from just my tournament posted on your website or are you just looking for the final scores for the individual divisions? (I can't even hazard a guess as to how many tournaments are listed on the OSC) That will be a listing of thousands of games. Seems like a massive waste of time.

You know that you are only 5 clicks away from having the actuate official information off of the tourney (USSSA) website....
1. Go to the 2016 tournament listing
2. Find the tournament in question
3. (if it is a USSSA WPA) Click on the tournament in question
4. Click on 'Schedules/Results'
5. Click on the age group and there you are.

Since my example is a USSSA tourney, the results are posted as soon as the umpire turns in their slips, not a week later. A week later who cares?

Final results on how all the teams finished is what we're asking (TD'S) to post once thier events is complete.

Please clarify the format that you are asking for........

18u A Championship; Ohio Gold Showcase 7 vs Michigan Bronze 1
18u B Championship: .......

OR list the records of all teams

18u A
Ohio Gold Showcase 7-1
Michigan Bronze 6-2
etc.....

Beavercreek USSSA Tournaments have always posted their results (though I admit not always by the next day). The results were posted in the same USSSA forum where the original tournament was listed and followed. I have used both a table display and links to the USSSA National web site. As Mike described it, this USSSA system contains not only the results of the current event, but also any event that a team played, that was sanctioned by USSSA. And, a person does not have to be a participant of the event to see all these results.

Going forward, Beavercreek, Rotary Park will also post our results in this forum. And for the record, I did vote in favor of recording the results on this forum.

I would suggest (as previously mentioned) that a common format be approved so that the TDs can supply the necessary info in a consistent format that will allow for ease of review for all the users.
A word of caution (also previously mentioned) this will be a ton of data. And in the past, I have had to create multiple posts to get all of the data recorded. Depends, obviously, on the number of games played, I think there must be a character count limit for each post.

I would suggest this as a possible format: This shows event name, location, sanctioning body, date, age division, pool play and bracket results.
Can we get an agreement on this or any other format? I think that would be very helpful for all.
Beavercreek Sample Tournament, Rotary Park
USSSA February 23 / 24, 2016
10U Division
Pool play
Team 17Team 25
Team 3 8Team 46
Bracket Play
Team 19Team 3 4

Good Luck to all in 2016.

Terry

That something to discuss. I'll put up a poll and ask the OFC family what type of format they would like to see from (TD'S)

At the same time I don't want to make it over complicated for the (TD'S) but at the same time I agree everyone should follow the same format for posting results. I'm starting a new post to discuss all the possibility that are available but also easy for anyone to do.

For our smaller tournaments, I have no problem posting pool play results. But our larger tournament we normally post the gold and silver places then bracket results. That would be a large amount of data to be posted. If someone is interested in s teams pool play results, they probably know someone on that team they can contact.

I run a tournament with 170+ teams and more than 400 games.
Transposing all those scores onto some kind of standard format is somewhat daunting.

How about we skip pool play and just post a picture of the brackets....

I think that a lot of the people here would say that they would like to see every score of every game in the Forum here. No doubt that could be onerous for a very large tournament. Some others would say they just want to know who beat who in the finals. Personally, I think there's a happy medium out there. To me, posting the elimination bracket, with or without the actual scores (I don't need to see the score ... just who won), is a minimum. But the results of pool games would be nice too ... especially when some of the top teams are going head to head. I personally would also like to see pool records posted here, but would settle for that or the results of pool games in a link.

That's just my opinion.
