Once again this was brought up on the radio show. The question was, why don't tournament director post the final results on the forum for the user to review on Monday?

I said it's just pure laziness on thier behalf. I can't really come up with any good reason why the tournament director can't post results on the forum. They understand that the forum is one of the best places to promote tournament(s) or they wouldn't be using the forum for advertisement.

This will be a poll. Please take part in the poll and let the tournament directories understand your frustrating when it come to lack of results being posted on the forum.

Poll Question

Should Tournament Directories be required to post results on forum in order to use the forum for advertisement of tournament's?

Not sure if this is technically feasible or not... Maybe you could charge them to post their tourneys then reduce or eliminate the charges once they fulfill their end by posting results.
That way, the ones who are contributing to the forum for real get to keep doing so for free and those who don't pay for it.

Also, public shamings. Post the TDs who do and don't post results.

Last resort: Sneak food and drinks into their tourneys.

I wish they would post results. It would be nice to know what is going on in the parts of the state you're not in.

I've run tournaments before, and it is nice to hear what happened, but there are far more important things going on before, during and even after a tournament is over, to worry about, "II have to post the results". C'mon man!

I think they should post results, but I also think MD 20/20 is correct in that they have things they have to do to close out their tournaments. AND they may be completely exhausted from the amount of work done during the weekend. I think they should have a time frame. Give someone a week to get it done. I do believe they use this forum to promote and should in turn report those scores.

Should they be Required - NO its a public forum.
Should they post results YES -

first it 2016 you can post results from your phone while you sit on the crapper when your heading to bed for the night - it takes about 8 seconds -

[Uptown Funk defeat the Downtown dogs 10/1 to win the 3rd Annual Summer Slam Spectacular Sparkle Series Invitational Showcase] - Boom done! flush

Second it helps the tourney for next year - everybody who played in the tournament cares who won and everyone who is going to play soneone in that tournament cares - It builds intrest it's worth the trouble.

It can be as simple as was done recently to report 14U results at Spano Dome. They just took at picture of a filled in bracket sheet with their phone and then posted it. Obviously we can't know if they did as COF suggests while on the crapper (lol).....but obviously easy to do.

I would say yes,but would showcase pool games be excluded? Most showcases have a single Elim following the pool showcase games(unlimited sub,bat everyone),after those I'm fine w it.

Yes MD 20/20 there are things that need to be taken care of and if you want to have good feed back on your tourney then make posting results one of the things that needs to be done !
I don't however think it should be mandatory but highly recommended. I do think that calling them out for not posting is a good idea !

Wow! 22-1 so far!

How many tournaments in one season does one direct? Should post results but if there is so much in finalizing a tournament, I suppose I personally could wait a week for the results!!

That is how full of it I am!

Just so everyone understands I'm not asking (TD'S) to post results of ever game played. I'm not asking for (TD'S) to post live updates like the biggest 14 under tournament in the state does ever year (Fire in the Sky in Orrville, Ohio).

The only thing I'm asking in return for all the free advertisement you receive from using the forum is you promote the forum and you post the final results on the forum.

With all the technology today it would be stupid not to post the tourney side of the results!
Yeah, you may not be able to post pool play results.
But all that it would take is a photo of the full bracket filled out and posted here ......It just makes good sense!
Besides you have parents , grand parents , family members who follow from out of state and use this to see how their team did..
Great opportunity to get your tourney more publicity.... COMON MAN....

Most just post a link. The one that they used to hold the tourney and post the brackets during it how much harder could it be..... You can still see the results of the Dayton Metro from last year on ASA site ....
I'm sure you could hook up the link to that site as well.....IE...... tourney machine and others....
Oh yeah her is the link to last years Dayton Metro ... http://gfp.tournamentasa.com/i!/brackets/Results.php?TID=3665&BSID=7225

I used the EASY Button....
Trust me its not that hard !!
I'm somewhat tech savvy but my DD will tell you other wise .....LOL ;)

I understand a TD being very busy and not being able to post it to the Forum the same day. But a whole week? Why not by Monday evening, or Tuesday at the latest? If the TD can't do it themselves, couldn't they assign someone else? As many have said, it shouldn't be that hard.

Many TD's use this Forum as the sole or at least the primary source of all of their "advertising" for the tourney. Can't they at least have the courtesy to post the results in the Forum too??

The only problem we run into with (TD'S) posting links only to the final results if something happen to that link the user get a 404 Link error and we either have to fix it or remove the link from the forum. I don't have a problem with (TD'S) posting links only during the event. But once your event is over come back and update that thread with the final results.

Just to make sure I don't leave anyone out we have (TD'S) out thier that are very good about posting results. Just look in the results section and you can see who does and who doesn't. But it's a very small percentage compare to the amount of tournament's held ever weekend.

Yes, they should be required.

If OFC is good enough for them to advertise their tournament, then they should close out the post on Sunday evening. As mentioned, it would take 5 minutes.

(Charge $25 to list the tournament, then refund the money when they post results...)

Ok, someone email me and ask if I'm talking about Showcase events. Absolutely not! Showcase events should be 100% about helping players get to the next level. The scores absolutely mean nothing.

It may be a public use forum, but it's privately owned by Ricky.
