ASA Tournament 2007 ASA/USA National Qualifier - Piitsburgh Power

The Pittsburgh Power is hosting a 2007 ASA/USA National Qualifier during the weekend of July 6-8.

This is a 5 game guarantee with 4 pool games leading into single elimination. The cost is $375. We will be using the Cranberry Park, Green Valley Park, Blueberry Park and Scharmyn Park facilities. All are located North of Pittsburgh and are easily accessible from I79 and I279.

The ASA/USA berths are for the J. Richard Millhouse Memorial and include age groups 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U (sorry no 18U berth). Only Pennsylvania teams are eligible to win the ASA/USA National Berths and will be awarded to the highest finishing PA team in each age group.

In addition, berths will be awarded to the 2007 ASA Eastern Nationals in all age groups (10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U and 23U). All teams located in the ASA Eastern region are eligible for these berths.

Entry deadline is June 15, 2007.

Is this your state tourny,is that why ONLY Pa teams get birth for ASA/USA?

kcsftbll22 - we annually have 70 to 80 teams within all age groups for the Power tournament. I don't have a list of teams that have registered but will see if I can obtain one.

hookslide - The ASA of PA State championships are in June. The ASA/USA berths in this tournament are awarded via the J. Richard Millhouse berths. He was a past ASA of PA President and the berths are awarded to the top finishing PA team. Berths to ASA Eastern Nationals will be awarded to the top finishing team(s) no matter what state they are from as long as they are from a state in ASA's Eastern Region.

ultraclas, last week I heard (2nd hand) that there was 42 paid entries and another dozen or so that have said there coming but they are not included in the 42 until payment is received.

All registrations go to the ASA District Commissioner for Western PA, Guy DeMaio. I do not have access to the list of paid entries but will see if I can obtain it.

We have our tournament scheduling meeting Wednesday evening and all schedules will be sent out by this weekend. I heard last week that we were approaching 70 teams.

Schedules for all age groups were completed last nite and are currently under review for any errors. If all goes well everything should be posted on our website by tonite. I'll post a link to the schedules as soon as available.

Directions to the Boro field (this is just 2 minutes from Blueberry park):
take I79 to the Wexford exit.

From the south - at the Wexford exit, turn left onto Rt 910. At the 2nd red lite turn left onto Nicholson Rd.

From the north - at the Wexford exit, turn right onto Rt 910. At the 1st red lite turn left onto Nicholson Rd.

Take Nicholson Road and turn right onto Rochester Road. Go 1/4 mile on the Boro field is on your right.
