Just a quick question, I know it's been gone over before but I'm still confused. My DD has a 2008 Easton Stealth. How long will she be able to use this bat?

Everyone is saying from asa wording that this is going to be the last year. After that they are supposed to still have composites but tone them down a bit so they cannot exceed the mph rule after the break in period. In other word........get ready to fork over another $300 for the new breed of composites in 2009.

As I understood it the new rules only pertain to the sales of new bats and not those already in circulation. What you already have you can use until its worn out. Not positive :-/

Does anyone know how we can get an official clarification on this? The ASA approved bat list was just updated, and there are still a lot of composite bats on the list. So the older bats are not all banned. I haven't seen anything as to how long these bats can be used. I would assume that not all of the composite bats are exceeding the ball speed after the break-in period for the new standard. Lets hope that we are not all buying new bats soon, to replace the new bats we just purchased.

The site doesn't have anything about how long you can use these bats, just if they are approved or not.

I don't think that answer has not been set in stone yet, but from what I'm hearing the new bats ?will be toned down to new specs. If you use the search feature and type bats. Some very good discussion on this topic on this site and J J Huddle.. ?

From what I understand, there is a "grandfather clause" for the composite bats. In that case, buy now for later.
