You are right Maumee.. no obligation... but I am just saying.... if you say one thing and do another within hours... I would just want to out of respect let the former director know that you had a change in heart and this is what you were doing......or at least answer his text.... otherwise, it looks like a bold face outright lie. A simple phone call could have fixed it.... so I went from having a very respectful opinion of this person to a very disrespectful opinion. If that is ok with him, then it is ok with me. If he didn't respect me enough to answer my text then he doesn't deserve any respect back....just saying.

You are right... it raises eyebrows on credibility. Especially in "hours".

Maybe he couldn't find anymore of those cool 70's coaches shorts and he can't coach without them but then found some on EBay and so he decided to coach again. Wait was the OP about being honest about leaving or cool reasons a coach might change organizations?

Btw Musty why are your rocking the lovely KBJM as your avatar? Lol

On another thread (screen name change) she posted; I'm hereby issuing a challenge...I'm daring folks to use their own pic for their avatar. Let's see who has the guts.

Nobody did so I changed mine to her. She hasn't seen it as she is out on a date rocking on some guys boat. :D

The bottome line is this...IF a coach says to one organization "I'm retiring" (as in not coaching anymore) because of this, that and the other...then accepts a coaching job from a different organization, then that does seem, at the least, a bit strange...I agree with Fast that a phone call or text could have avoided some awkwardness.
