Out of curiosity, how did ur DD choose her jersey number? Luck of the draw, mom or dad's old high school number, etc. I'm sure some of your DDs have good reasons/stories for selecting the number she wears every weekend.

oldest wears #17, I wore it as a kid cause my favorite player, Chris Sabo wore it, younges wears #37 cause she wanted to be different from the oldest.

Dd wanted #1 because I wore. When she made team they had a #1 so she took #2 and has stuck with it in every sport. Son wears #1.

Older daughter wears 13 (my favorite number), younger daughter wears 3. My birthday is 3/13.

In college my older daughter will wear #5 because 13 is taken. 5 was her number from s o c c er when 13 was taken.

#21....My baseball number was number 21...I had picked that number because of Roger Clemens ('85) but it has turned out through the years that my favorite players across many sports have worn that number...From Mike Eurizone to James Brooks ...My DD picked it and won't wear anything else. Now my youngest is getting ready for her first tryouts and she wants to wear it.

11 - DD wore "the ones" all the way to her last college game. Don't remember how it started, but it was sort of a superstition. She just got lucky to have it each step of the way.

2 of my DD's started off in a rec sport and were the smallest kid on the team so they got #1 the smallest jersey size, oldest switched to #13 in college. My youngest wanted #7 because lucky 7 has their own cheer.

My oldest DD wears #21. She picked it out because her cousin wore that number. Has worn it in every sport since. Youngest is #22. She wanted 21 but her and my oldest were on the same team for 1 year so she picked 22 and has used it for everything since.

Oldest wears either 2 (D. Jeters number), or 22 if that is taken. The younger is 00, she was told her first year if she picked a nuber like that, it would make her stand out, so she better live up to it. So far she does.

My oldest is #36. That was my varsity number. My 10u wears #22 because our babysitter wears 22 for her travel team.

My oldest is #1 (not softball though)....funny thing is her last name is Best so all her shirts say Best 1 and everyone thinks she is just arrogant lol. My 2nd oldest wears 1 also, because she loves her big sis. My youngest girl is 8, because she is 8 lol. She was pretty excited to meet Cat Osterman last night though....she is number 8.

My oldest wears 19. It happened to be the number of the jersey she got for being on the rec All-Star team that finished runner-up in states in '08 (12U). She has stuck with it ever since. Youngest is 10 just because of that cheer..here we go...you know the rest LOL! :lmao:

My middle wears #6....she was the 6th biggest kid on her first rec ball team and it has stuck ever since. My little one is #7....she wanted to change every year but I told her that wouldn't work, pick a number and stick to it. She got the most hits when she was #7 so she chose that. My oldest was #8 but I don't know why, her explanations leave me more confused than when I started so it's best not to ask sometimes. I was #13 from t-ball through college and I tried to convince my girls it was the best number in the world but they weren't the least bit interested, they wanted their own numbers.

Oldest got #1 in Rec, cause she was always the smallest - liked it & has always kept it.
Middle wanted the # I always wore & has been 00.......
Youngest chose #2, so she would stay in order with them.....
