I'm looking to buy a pair of metal cleats. I am pitcher and in fall ball, thought it would be good idea to try them out now as oppose to waiting until HS ball. Is there a big differance between the 5 spike & 9 spike cleats?? Looking for some advise. Thanks.

Title 9. If the boys can wear them, so can the girls.

Heat,

Youe mention title 9. How does the facemask rule on batting helmets apply to this? Boys do not wear but girls are required to.

Well it is official the OHSSA has approved metal cleats starting in 2008. ?I hope the high school coaches spend time on sliding.

Great point, we better get some now and work on it over the fall eh?

Thats a good point softball7, I hadnt thought about checking with our HC to see if he was going to allow it or not. Before I spend the cash on them I better check to see if he is going to allow them :)

Anyone have luck finding metal cleats? I haven't seen any in the new catalogs. I'd like my players to get used to them in the fall.

The Eastbay website has lots of cleats at a pretty good price.

Get on the baseball cleat section and go about 5 pages in (they seem to put the most expensive ones on the front pages ;D) and you will find baseball cleats marked down to about $30.00 and the women's cleats start on this page, too (also some not-too-bad prices).

Have ordered many times from this company with good results.

You really get what you pay for in Cleats, Ringor have been the most durable cleat my DD has had. 643dp you should look at the Ringor for your DD, the pitching Toe on those are real cleat savers.
