Northern Lakes League Predictions

Looking for your top 4 or 5 teams in the NLL. I know they dont have a tourney, which if they did would be very cool, but hey they get to play each other twice which is also very cool.


My top teams in Alphabetical order

Anthony Wayne
Perrysburg
Southview
Springfield (Holland)

I wouldnt mind hearing a little about each team, or your opinion (Keep it positive) on each team

643dp, my order was Alphabetical order lol. Personally I think AW and Springfield will battle it out for the title. But, P-burg and S-view are very good and are capable of winning it too.

Sorry.. did not catch that... I still pick that order.. I believe AW is the one to beat and PB and SV will be a close 2nd and 3rd with Springfield 4th... but hey what do I know I am a TCL guy ;D

I knew Thunder didn't want to be the first to respond to this, so I will do being an NLL guy. Uber you are wise. I think there will be HUGE battle for the top four spots.

The favorites have to be AW Generals. The are returning champs and have good experience coming back. The interesting thing about that team this year is who is going to play outfield. The infield is set with the exception of 2nd. The outfield is wide open. I will be interested in where they are going to play the powerhitting soph from the JV team last year. She should have been on varsity last year.

Perrysburg will be in the mix. If you have Kim Bryson pitching you are in the game. Ultimately they won't have enough offense to win the NLL. I see a great number of games being 1-0 or 2-1 type games.

Southview could be the surpise team. They have some good pitching and some offense. I think they will play more of the spoiler roll this year with some big wins.

Springfield has a very good team coming back. They lost three good players, but they have very good players to fill those spots. Michalak is healthy and looking better than ever. I look for her to have much improved numbers this year. She pitched great last year as a freshman, but was injuried the last three weeks of the season. I look for her to have a monster year. The interesting position for this team will be centerfield. After losing Mara Hubbard it is a big hole to fill. I'm sure Rob G will have someone ready come the start of the season.

Pitchers and Catchers in 10 days. Spring is almost here, life is good.

Sounds like all of you know your NLL... no argument from me.
Brooke Gates from Southview may be one of the best players in the NLL. I expect a monster year from her... she just verbaled at Toledo Univ. Demars should be a little more comfortable as head coach.

Just a minute here,...I'm looking for my 10' pole. Okay Im set. As I recall the Super Bowl was not won by the favorite at the end of the season, so to get it right before pitchers and catchers report is pure speculation.
I'm certainly willing to stand behind my "Generals" for having a legitimate shot at their 3rd title in a row, however the games all have to be played. A lot can happen in 14 league games. I think Uber has the right 4 teams, but I bet there are 4 other teams that plan on making their own statement about who the top 4 are.

Wow! What a weak response from Thunder. Then again since he is a coach he doesn't want to give too much away. That's ok he still got a dig in.

Thunder almost has it right.... except IMHO, the bottom four won't move up to the top 4 but they may be a factor on how the top 4 finish at the end of the season. After all, I remember last year BG beat SUA early in the season, so on any given day................

Thunder, if my memory serves me correct, AW and Springfield were co-champs two years ago and Springfield out right champs three years ago, AW outright last season. Should come down to these two again I would think. As a Rossford fan I also remember Maumee bitting us in the butt last year. Fast is right, in this league on any givin day.

2.) Fast, I agree 100%. All games must be played and the so called bottom 4 can
certainly affect the outcome of the league.
3,) basesloaded,..You are correct A.W. and Springfield shared the title 2 years ago.
CO-CHamps are still considered CHAMPIONS and as I stated, IF A.W. wins this
year it is STILL 3 in a row. IN FACT, according to the trophies in our building,
it would be the 10th in the last 13 years, CO CHAMPION or SOLE CHAMPION.
Good luck with Maumee this year.
4.) Anthony Wayne consistently wears the target on their back. It's understood and
welcomed. I am forunate that my daughter plays for a great program, obviously
long before she has had an opportunity to have a small part of it.
5.) Something for you 4 year fans of your school. When Perrsyburg won it's 1991
State Championship, Mark Hamann was the Head Coach. In 2003 when A.W.
won the State Championship, Mark Hamann was there again as the Asst. Head
Coach.
6.) I'm very proud of Anthony Wayne's program with all that is right about it and
its flaws. Further more I am an ardent supporter of all the NLL Schools. IF A.W.
wins anything, I'd like to think they are playing against the best. I cherish the
relationships with players, parents and coaches from all the other 7 schools.

Heat my man, the "NO DIGS WHATSOEVER" referred to my original post. There were no digs. Please read it again.
In the second post, the comment you refer to was not a dig but a fact.
To keep things extremely current, couldn't it be said that A.W. and Springfield are going for their 3rd title each in 4 years. Not a dig at all towards the rest of the league, simply a fact. If you don't think Springfield also wears a target on their back, your are sadly mistaken. Bulletin boards or not.

Your right Fast. Thunder isn't thunder anymore, he's more like a rumble. He can say that he wasn't digging, but he knows that he does it better than anyone. Therefore, he can play the "I didn't mean it that way" card, but he meant exactly that. You can't thump the AW chest for all this time and then change your tune when you become a coach. He should have been a little more reserved that past couple of years. He knew he was going to end up in the AW dugout. I'm sure he will take it out on my kid like he already tried this year.

I hope you guys are friends just having fun....Heat I am sure you know Thunder better than I but I can not read anything in his posts other than AW has been a great program for over 10 years...I hope I am available when AW and Springfield play because I would LOVE to see you two discuss the outcome in person and not on this forum...lol
