news from tealtown, though unconfirmed is now that 10 and 12u is canceled for today and will resume 7am Sunday. 14 and 16u to play through the night.

I am so glad that this is a local tournament for our team.
I feel very sorry for those teams that are in hotels. There is only so much you can do while in a hotel room. While waiting for updates from Tealtown (in the past 2 days) we have been very bored. Can't really plan anything.

I just heard from my coach that 10U/12U/14B are done for today. Will play one pool game then single elimantion tomorrow.
14A/16/18 started at 3pm. Only 3 playable diamonds at this time.
Will update the website in 2 hours, for what thats worth.

Expressway park charges every day. Tealtown does not. They did purchase temporary fences this year and they also remove the mounds for this tournament. Technically, only two fields out of the eighteen are used as softball fields (#'s 10 and 11). There are four other fields they use for softball if there are not baseball games being played, however that happens rarely. The rest are for baseball or coach pitch baseball/softball. Not one person is profitting from this tournament. Proceeds go to the park for repair, help pay the utility bill, etc.

Should they not have posted it on their web site so teams didn't get up, dressed and drive down to the fields only to find a 3 hour delay that turned into 5 hour delay (with-out any additional rain) and then turn into the day cancelled again with-out additional rain????
At expressway ONE person is making a living and they only charge $3.00 but Tealtown can't cover expenses at $5. Why should this tournament which is mostly out of area people be subsidizing the local BASEBALL rec league, which it still should be doing somewhat at $3 a person. Poorly managed no mater what angle you look at it!
And its sad that a lot of out of towner's suffered today because of it!

Well Mustohiofastpitch.....I did say in an earlier post that I wish the communication was better. That being said I believe the NSA reps are at fault as well. Tealtown has to relay info to the NSA reps and in turn the NSA needs to come back with a response before it posts. As far as the tourny being mismanaged I totally agree with you. I bet the responses are slow on both sides. I'm lucky because I'm local. Last week our team traveled to Wilmington. Many families stayed in motels. That tourney was also a clustered mess and it wasn't nearly as large. I know this has been a nightmare for everyone involved and I am in no way defending the management of this tournament. All I know is this tournament is about $30 - $50 cheaper than my teams other tournaments and even though there is a gate fee, every other tournament our team has been to is either $330 or $350 entry fee and had a gate fee of $3 to $5 dollars with the exception of Wilmington where the gate was free.

As far as poor management, your wrong again!! This park is full of volunteers. No body is making a dime, it cost a boat load of money to run a park this size. It's people like you making accusations that make all these good volunteers stay home. Get a clue >

So Tealtown uses Volunteers vs Expressway Paid staff and can make a profit at $3 a person but Tealtown has to charge $5 even with the free help. Hey, God Bless the volunteers who toil for the benefit of the kids. I applaud them wholeheartedly and I never said a discouraging word about them. Always loved the friendly fast service at the concession stand. Just the Management is all I talked about, which you being in that area may be a part of, are you?
If Tealtown washes their hands of anything to do with the terrible communications this weekend they should have post a disclaimer to that effect because it is THEIR web site, not the Ohio NSA site that is being used to relay field conditions and delays. AND Tealtown could still post under their Field Condition section what the conditions are regardless are what the tournament is doing.

Does anyone know how close to schedule the games are running? ?It appears all games between 3:00 and 8:00 were confined to fields #1 and #2, with 8:00 games scheduled to start on fields #3 and #4. ? Just wondering if things started on time at 3:00, and if the games are progessing in the allotted time. ?Thanks for any update someone can provide.
