The heat was tough out there...92 degrees. Slugging out four consecutive wins against good quality opponents is an accomplishment.

As For the SGS Magic Red 12-u team that didn't show -up ..

I heard/told that they wanted to be in the B Bracket but since there wasn't enough in A Brackets they got put into A. I guess it couldn't be worked out so they didn't show up.
Anyone else hear different?? ???

Buckeye Heat 16U (Abraham) beats Miami Valley Express 3-2 in first game Sunday. To win the tournament, Heat would have to win 5 more games today. That's a tall order in this weather.

14U A Maddogs Beat Westerville Ice 3-2 in 8am game this morning. Any other results?

Excarkunn- yes the 12U Magic wanted to play "B"- they would not have been able to play"A". Would not have been compettitive. Waste of time for them to play "A" to loose 3 and get mercy'd- Its to bad they would have done well in "B". They really wanted to be there.

12U "A" update:

Ohio Ice to play Cincy Doom. ?The winner to play the Orange Lasers at 4pm.

I left at 2pm so I do not have the remaining 12U "A" scores.

All in all, a good tournament. ?We did not get gouged on the concessions. ?As with any tournament, there were questions about/for the umpires. ?I'm sure there will be stories about some umpiring, but we had some pretty good umps. Wish there could have been more room for warm-ups though.

I enjoyed getting to watch some of the other teams play and chatting with the parents/friends (no recruiting/try-out talk ;D).

The Ohio Attack finished 4th losing to the Buckeye Heat 4-2. The final three teams left were the Ohio Ice Black, Westerville Ice and the Buckeye Heat. Westerville Ice was undefeated with the other two teams having one loss each. Great job Ohio Attack!

Buckeye Heat 16U loses 3-1 to Ohio Ice (Black). ?Despite first round loss, Buckeye Heat goes 7-2 and places third in tournament. ?Back-to-back days of four games per day. ?Must be nice to be young.

In 12U A, believe Orange Lasers won. In 14U A, Wolfpack (out of Winners bracket) and Green Lasers were playing in finals. In 18U, MV Xpress won 6 straight games, including 3 this am before getting beat by the Sting 2-0. Sting and Black Lasers were playing to get to final against Ohio Illusion. Congrats to Xpress for a great six game run over the last two days, including two exciting games today -- a come from behind win in the bottom of the seventh against the Bandits and an international tie breaker win against the Pink Lasers! Saw a lot of good ball out at Tealtown this weekend; bodes well for Columbus at the end of the month!!

Who did the Lasers Orange play for the final 12U A game? Also, how did the 12U B finals shake out?

Wow. The lasers 14U is still in it? They had all they could handel in their first game by the Lady Irish. The Irish had them 3-0 in the 5th. The game would have ended that way but the umpire extended the time clock another 10 min after the timer went off. He claimed that he is adding time because the grounds crew intrerupted the game to fix the bases. All other games were done. The Irish pitcher kept them off ballance the whole game. Shes a small kid but throws fairly hard with some off speed and great rise ball.
